| Postcards from a Young Man - Manics. In preparation for the gig tonight. This old git is pretty excited actually - the last 2 albums have been something of a revival, so it should be good. Fingers crossed. | |

| Bryan Ferry's cover of "Song To The Siren".
Tis good but sounds almost exactly like you'd expect, although there is actually quite a lot of depth of sound beneath the gleam.
The supporting cast is absolutely stellar, though, including Phil Manzanera, David Gilmour, Nile Rodgers and Jonny Greenwood on guitars. (Yes, all of them). Brian Eno on keyboards and Andy Mackay on Oboe. Now that is a band I would pay to see!

It consists of Ferry doing his thing, but doing it to absolute perfection. The quality of his collaborators is simply astonishing, but rather than be overwhelmed by the talent he harnesses their skills to create perhaps the ultimate Bryan Ferry album. In addition to the aforementioned musicians, other contributors include the likes of Flea, Marcus Miller, Mani, Groove Armada etc.

| Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus by The Spirit.
An amazing album by one of the most underrated band of all times. The records from the original members are totally great, except for Clear that is dispersive but with some beautiful songs.

| James - about 6 albums worth.
I'm just falling in love with them all over again. Hell, Manchester has produced some bloody brilliant bands, eh?
Currently listening to the lovely "Hello".

| Five Years - Bowie, from Ziggy. What a fabulous song! followed by The Big Music - The Waterboys - gotta love Mike Scott followed by Saturday Night - Suede, from the fabulous "Best Of". Seriously, if you haven't got much Suede stuff then this collection is possibly all you need - 35 tracks including all the singles, the brilliant B sides and topped up with the best of the rest from the first two albums. | |
