| Today was The Seldom Seen Kid while in the car running various errands.
It sounded goooood! Windows open, sun shining, music cranked. Nice.

My iTunes has been on shuffle all day and I'm rediscovering music that I forgot I had.

| Errr! Actually I've been listening to Vaughan Williams for most of the afternoon - Oboe Concerto, 3rd Symphony (Pastoral), Dives and Lazarus and the Phantasy Quintet. It just suited the fantastic warm sunshine whilst I was out photographerising this afternoon. | |

| My little boy singing to himself, chatting to his toy Bagpuss, kicking the sides of the cot and steadfastly refusing to go to sleep despite the fact he practically fell asleep in his dinner two hours ago.
Just downloaded a music tracker (whatever that is - I thought a tracker was a chewy bar with peanuts in)... so my own musical creations, hopefully, if I ever stop monging around on this board!

| Queen's first album at the moment (see "first record" thread - still listening after all these years...) Recently, a lot of Hala Strana (aka Steven R Smith) - anyone else know him? I've been a tad obsessed recently, wonderful stuff. - Hotblack wrote:

Yep! That's my favourite VW piece too, closely followed by The Lark Ascending. Don't tell the others but I really like Mahler, Shostakovich, Sibelius, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Mussorgsky and loads of others as well.

Sadly here website appears to be down at the moment but I've found her MySpace page so listening to some stuff now. Sounds really good. I'm sure I've heard her on the Radcliffe and Maconie show. It's certainly the sort of thing they'd play.

| Haven't heard Yes for ages - love that song. Hotblack, her site seems to be working for me, perhaps I gave you a duff link; it's www.laura-jean.com. I rarely get to listen to the radio, we get crap reception here (and I rarely sit in front of the TV listening to the radio on satellite ) and during the day (at the computer) I get too distracted by the radio (like I don;t anyway (see number of messages this morning )) so tend to stick with my own stuff/playlists. I hear most of my new stuff (like LJ) by browsing Last.fm and friends' recommendations there etc | |

| Hmm. Maybe you have a cookie that's letting you in but I can't access the site with either IE or Firefox even after google searches etc. BTW the songs on her MySpace are brilliant. I think I'm going to have to get hold of 'Our Swan Song'. I hope there are plans to release 'Eden Land' over here. I don't listen to much radio either. The odd comedy on R4 and, when I can, Radcliffe and Maconie on R2. Not only do they play some great music but it's usually very funny too. | |

| I use Firefox so can't think why it should for me & not for you. I did that - went straight out & got Our Swan Song - haven't heard Eden Land yet but intend to. That was a garbled message, I meant to say I'm working when at the computer during the day (hence trying (but failing) to avoid distractions). I always intend to listen to more Radio 4 than I do - love lots of it - and I try and catch Guy's Finest Hour on Listen Again as often as poss. of course... | |
