| I think we all need somewhere to vent some time and in the other forum i'm a member of their "Reasons not to be cheerful" and "Reasons to be cheerful" threads are where the community is built. (Not that we have a problem with a lack of that here!) And on a more selfish note i've had a horrible day and Al, aka the world's best flatmate, is still back with her parents... So - here goes...
It's been a tough couple of months, money wise... But i've been doing ok. My car started acting up yesterday, just to make sure i wasn't over reacting i got my dad over to take a look. (This was after the work he did to the thing on Saturday, turns out the sound the breaks were making was drowning out the sound of the gearbox failing.) He drove it up the hill and had to push it down. The gearbox is shot and as it's an auto, that is a big deal. I need my car as i have 20 minutes to get from one side of town to the other, every day so i can my two jobs i need to do to survive. We're looking at a car tomorrow for £200. It'll wipe out what little money i have saved, but i won't have to borrow any. (I have just finished paying off my grandparents for the car before this one, which also died, forcing me to get this car.) I know my parents would help me out, but they're worse off than me, my dad is self employed, and no one is paying... Which means i know my mum is feeling guilty and i feel awful that i've put them in that position. So my summer holidays are looking in doubt. I'm just tired of constantly making do, i work hard and it pisses me off that my friends who work in call centers get paid more than me. I keep crying over little things, there is no one here to talk to and i just want a hug. (And a holiday)
*and breathe* | |

| Sarah well done for speaking here its good to have rant and it sounds like your rant is well deserved and warrented, bonus you seem a nice caring person, bonus your parents seem nice caring people and you have a good relationship ,that is a major plus believe me. It has cheered me up in a strange way reading your post because in world inhabited by greedy and vain self centred fools its good to know there are nice people out there, I hope Karma see's you right girl, thanks and here's a hug Sarah | |

| I played golf today, and got stuck behind 3 of the most insuffereable, smug, slow, and downright pathetic losers I have ever seen In my life. Now, I'm not great golfer; but at least I don't steak any major claims that I am. These 3 pricks were wearing the whole apparel - you know, the pink trousers and the Argyle sweaters. Anyway, it took them 1 hour to complete 3 of the shortest holes on the course, and when we happened to hit a shot that went within 50 yards of them, they came over to us and had a right go. They were ridiculous.
This may seem trivial, but, you don't understand how bad they were, and how long they were taking. I felt like getting a 9 iron, running down there, and performing some quick surgery on their stupid thick-heads, URGH!

| Sarah, while some of your mates might have a better hourly rate, don't forget you do a job that really makes a difference and your influence will stay with those kids for years. Things are tough right now, but you have to believe you'll get what you need: A car, a break away, a bit of a let up. Even if you have to cancel your holiday to pay for a runabout, it doesn't cost much to go camping and have a top time with proper mates. And you're in a lovely part of the country with reliably decent weather! Setbacks are all part of the deal: Hang on in there, it'll be right flower. Topaz, hope you're getting good treatment with enough time free to rest up as much as possible. Get well soon. Leo, at least you can play better than these garish folk - and you didn't actually get banged up for giving into impulse and assault. Result! | |

| Just discovered I missed Elbow when they supported Snow Patrol at Gmex back in 2006, went to the gig but arrived late and only got there a short time before SP came on. Untill today I didn't even know Elbow were there. I only owned COT at the time and didn't get really into them till a few months later, but still, I can't help thinking of all the lovely intimate gigs I've missed. I'm off to find something to kick! | |

That has got to suck, those things are costly! I'd go for the "Get all the attendees to put their photos in an online album" route. My brother did both, it's amazing the things you miss at your own wedding Rant II Arrrrrrrrrgh! Great couple of days, LOVELY, carefree and very fun. Get back to a letter from the bank tell me they're charging me £25 to post me a letter to tell me that nothing has changed. I also get back to two emails from my dad. One tells me how to scrap my car, one is about a car that i should call about, he knew i was away and the bloody thing has already gone. The fact that i wasn't going to read it, or be able to see the bloody thing for 48 hours didn't seem to occour to him. Phoned him to say i've sent him an email about another car, i have rung them this time and it is still available, but the "Husband isn't here to deal with it..." So mum tells me to go with my brother... I need to go with them because dad is putting on his card until the grandparents can pay it off and until i can pay them off. I irrationally burst into tears which i hate because Mum thinks i can't cope and will want me to "come home". This whole thing has wiped away ANY glow the gig and the (90%male) crowd had given me! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

| I've just ranted at the tosser on ebay selling front row Elbow/Halle seats for £999. I don't know if I'm allowed to send unpleasant messages to fellow ebayers, but quite frankly, I think he/she deserved it. In fact, I think we should all send him/her an unpleasant message. | |

My mom got that too. Nasty stuff. She sleeped with a special glove a few weeks and it got better. Also I have seen a hand gymnastic in my hand gymnastic sheet (I have problems with weak shaky hands since the chemo) and my therapist said that one would be good for people with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Press the hands like you're praying, then open the palms of the hands so that only the fingers touch each other and get stretched. And I also recommended my mom therapy putty. It trains the hands and you can do it even while watching TV. But don't lay the putty somewhere without its box. The softer ones trickle into cloth and make nasty marks! I have problems with my left arm when I sleep on the left side, it gets numb too. My therapist says it might come from the neck. I hope it gets better because in June I will get that huge surgery on my right half of the chest and I think that means, that I can not lay on that side for a long time, means, I have to lay on the left side, that makes my arm numb... We have that saying in Berlin: the best disease is good for nothing!

| I would like to have a quick bitch about sodding student finance, who apparently gave me too much money at the start of the year, didn't tell me until now, and have got all uppity about me paying them back as soon as possible.
It's their chuffing mistake - they can wait till this skint student finds the cash! Grrr...
