After deciding to buy tickets for their big gig in September I searched for a message board in order to get through the 4,5 months of waiting by sharing the excitement and anticipation. Hmm, that sounds more dramatic than I meant actually...
Anyway...

At last years Lowlands Festival I missed most of Elbow's show, but after listening more and more to The Seldom Seen Kid I realized what a fool I had been and decided to make up for my mistake by going to one of their concerts in The Netherlands in November. That gig in Eindhoven turned out to be one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

The atmosphere in the audience, the fun the guys were having on stage, the mix between up-tempo and slower songs, standing just a few feet from the stage, Guy's very charming way of communicating with the audience, everything was just perfect.

During one of the songs, I'm not sure which one it was, I just closed my eyes and felt the music. When I opened my eyes again I looked straight into Guy's eyes. I'm not sure but I swear I could see him smile just a little bit. Probably because of the startled expression I must have had on my face.
I guess it's just one of those things where you have to be there to understand it, but is was pretty funny that night


This forum looks like a cool place to hang out with lots of nice people and I hope I will be able to contribute to that.

I was at 4 out of the 5 Elbow-concerts in Holland (Groningen was a little too far away) and I must say theEindhoven one was the best one! It was their last gig of the tour and the boys were really up for it! A wonderful night!
Anyway, it's nice to have another Dutch person on board! I am from Den Haag but living in Ireland now for nearly 18 years.
Very badly missing 'hagelslag' en 'broodjes tartaar' but at least I have Guinness and lovely Irish men!
Great to see you're coming to Manchester in September and hope to meet up with you then!

I can't believe I still havn't been to and Elbow gig! i'm obviously missing out on an amazing time.
