The Beta Band are well worth exploring, I'm sure some others in here could point you in the right direction, but I wouldn't bother with Big Country. Their stuff sounds awfully dated these days. And that's coming from someone who saw them live many times back in the day.Maybe their first album would be worth a listen for the uninitiated.

Good afternoon. I have just registered as a new user on this forum and I would like to say hello. I am a fan of Elbow and their music (but not in a scary, stalky, obsessive way)
If pressed, I would say that my favourite album is LOTFW but my favourite song varies according to mood and circumstance.
