also re. the two forums, what I like about here is it has the off-topic sections, whereas powderblue is (mostly) elbow-related. Makes it easier to get to know people (imho) when you can stray off-topic a bit.

We,,,,,,, me and my wife Tracy found Elbow soon after seeing Guy on Never Mind TBCs some time ago in fact our first Elbow experience was at Barfly in Liverpool and we have been hooked ever since.

I was instantly blown away with Fugative Motel, and I guess I always will be,,,,my dream is to here them play it at Liverpool Uni later this year as we have just got tickets for this gig....

Delamere forest was a fantastic night for the faithful, I only wish we could have been on the guest list to enjoy the after show party. We were buzzing after the show I'm sure they were too....

I didn't realise the band had been together so long,,,,,18 years so Guy was telling Rufus at Glastonbury,,,,,,,,


Personally, my best ever gig was when Elbow supported Coldplay at the Reebok a couple of years ago when I fell in love with 'Newborn'............

Then there is this Richard Hawley who is Mr Cool,,,,,,,and my new favourite 'The Fix'........

You're right, of course. Occasionally it gets so off topic that you might as well change the thread name, but i'm not really bothered. I just point it out to stick with my "miserable git of the forum" image.

the old fan forum did have a link from the official site...when it was the 'Leaders...' site, if not before too.

Didn't get the idea of forums until about a year ago, so have only been looking since then. Need to start reading a few of the posts to see what I've been missing all this time.

Okay then well my name is Simon and I write music reviews and a football website and run a radio show. It goes without saying I am a huge fan of Elbow and have been since day one. I work in a soul destroying job for a soul destroying company and will soon be moving from Liverpool back to my home town of Bury coz it's mint and eventually family draws you back.

I'm lucky enough to have known Richard and his family since I was little so the fact the band is becoming more present in everyone's conciousness is very very pleasing and I'm sure everyone here is happy about it. (Unless the whole 'well kept secret' thing is your bag, which I get too).

Thats about it really, all the other stuff will come out the more I spend time here I guess. Okay well, take care and I'll see everyone around here.

OK, here goes. My name is Mike and I live in Manchester. I've been watching elbow since the year 2000 and I've now seen them more times than I can recall (I really should keep ticket stubs). I write reviews for a music website called allgigs.co.uk and live music is my number one love and passtime.

Well done on getting this place going. Powder Blue just died a slow death and it's great to have somewhere to come and discuss Elbow.

Hello All....Just found this place....lovely! Shame about PB but oh well.... Need to sort thru the threads to get up to speed and sort out some sort of profile. I'm meant to be using next week to sort out various diy jobs around the house while my wife and daughter leave me home alone while they go off on a jolly... just may end up here with a beer!!
