What's the book Chris is holding on the cover? My eyes aren't that good.

I've had quite a few looks and close moments (I like to stand up front) and times where he actually smiled for my camera (or: "oh no not that idiot pointing a camera again" more like ), the best that actually came out photographically being this one with Johnny at an I Am Kloot gig in 2005:
(Incidentally just before the Elbow tour that year and just after he twisted his ankle, I think that gig was the first public appearance of the famous walking stick. Hurting your ankle obviously affects your ability to use an iron ).
He kissed my hand during ODLT in Llandudno. A lovely moment and must've been powerful too - the ring on my little finger on that hand snapped out of the blue on the way out to the car park...

LOL, Tom is such a cutie though!!!
I didn't say much, but when Serge asked how I liked it I told him they were great and then I said how I loved the new album, that I thought it was brilliant, and he seemed genuinely pleased and grabbed my hand and said thanks. And then I went to Chris and he said "Alright darlin'?" Lovely time.
Hehe, again v lucky. Would kill to meet them, but if the time came I don't think I would be a confident and just stand there lol And I've wanted to know about the book too. The title is kinda blurred, which is annoying, but I shall try and find out.

What a beautiful photo of Guy and John, Glendarian. I was so excited the first time I saw Guy singing 'To You' with John when at The Ritz, Manchester that I ran over to Mark and his wife who were upstairs too and kept saying thankyou and tell guy thankyou
I didn't know Guy had watched 'King Biscuit Time' at that gig you took the photo at. I suggested Steve Mason's songs several times for SFG, but he would only play Beta band, not what Steve was currently doing then, so perhaps he didn't like it.
The longest bear hug I've ever had....
OK, apart from the staring game moment, the longest hug (so this IS the tummy time) I had from Guy was when I was about to leave after their gig in Norwich, February 2006. I was plucking up courage to deliver a painting to Elbow that I'd done of Guy at the end bit of 'Newborn', I'd already told Jupp in the bar after, how I was embarrassed to give it, and left it in my car as didn't think it was good enough to give, but he had reassured me.
I jumped out the car, just before leaving with the canvas, and was walking back past the tourbus, when Guy appeared. I was just going to hand it to him in the bag and scurry away but he wanted to see it there and then, so as I got it out, I garbled something about how seeing the 'Newborn' in Porsmouth, the previous November when I was so close to the stage, had been such a powerful moment that I was inspired to paint again.
I hadn't picked up a paint brush for years, but felt compelled to try and capture the moment of the music in paint.
Then he gave me the most enormous bear hug that was taking my breath away and seemed to last a long time.
No photographic evidence, as there was no one else there.

YOU were there and GUY was there, that's all that matters! You'll have that memory forever. And what a lovely story! I'm sure it was a moving moment for him as well!

What lovely stories you've all got and gorgeous lovely cuddly pics, too, Jones and TL.
LWD I'd love to have seen your painting - but of course I guess it's no longer in your hands. What a fantastic memory - full painting appreciation and a bear hug too!

Wow!! Such nice moments you've all had with Guy. Well... I tried to post my comment on the Munich concert from November. But I can't find it anymore... It was the only Elbow concert I've been too and I was nervous like a "Tokio Hotel-Fan". Gosh, I never thougt of me as such a girlie girl. But I was! Ask my companion. She was like "are you ok? Ok, breath..." *LOL* Minutes before there entrance it was nerve-racking. And there he was (well, he sung with Jessca a before)... the concert was amacing. My friend made a lot of pic and I did my avatar and little bits of videos with my handy. Then there was weather to fly and Guy walked down to shake hands... And one was mine! Again the giggling teenager (at 24 at that time, aaaargh) came out. But it was so cool, i still remember his facial expression when he shook my hand. Another visitor posted a video on youtube. On 5.43 Min. Yeap... take a close look and don't blink! The one were he's nodding. That's my hand! *LOL* The last one... yeah, excatly!

Guy looks so much younger then.
Sorry about all the "awww that's fab" replies I've just discovered this thread today. There's nothing like a few Guy and Elbowie photos to set you up for the day!!

Here you go Nellie: Have a look at the last post on here for a quick tute.
Unfortunately I've never had a hug from Guy . The closest I've ever got was at Blackpool, when he did the 'are we having the time of our lives?' bit. . He then legged it right in front of me to get back on the main stage in time to carry on singing WTF. Ah, maybe one day!

I remember from the Newport gig we went to this year.
On Weather to Fly he came down off the stage, we stood three rows back. No-one didn't really reach out to him when he held his hand out, looked our way and I held mine out which he took and gave it a squeeze. All sounds very melodramatic but that was my Guy moment. Couldn't stop me smiling all night.
Then got some photos after the gig at the stage door and chatted a little. My avatar photo looks awful in large size so I'm therefore not going to post it, however, fantastic night to remember.
