| The Duckworth Lewis Method. The side project by The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon. It's all about the game of Cricket. A bit twee, but entertaining. | |

Agreed. Great pop record. Kid British's 'It Was This Or Football (First Half)' for me. They always put on a great live show but the album leave something to be desired, I think. Maybe it'll grow.

| Just downloaded the new one by The Fiery Furnaces (I'm Going Away). Only listened to it once all the way through but it sounded good - gonna give it a few more spins this week to see how it holds up! | |

| Engineers - Three Fact Fader Nice shoegaze music between Harmonia, Ride, Alan Parsons and a bit of Elbow Their first record (self titled) was more romantic, the new one is more engergetic but still very relaxed, even when they kick the distortion pedal(s) | |

| I bought the four smiths 180g heavy vinyl remasters yesterday. Got them for a tenner each in out on the floor in Camden which was a bargain. Also bought a couple of albums by the panics from Australia online. | |

I was at Metropolis Studios when they were putting the finishing touches to the Smiths remasters. They sounded superb. Need to get out and buy them myself.

| I'm saving them for later in the week and a nice glass of single malt or two. It seems weird that there's as many live and compilation albums released while they were still going as there are proper albums. I'd love Hatful of Hollow and World Won't Listen on 180g. | |

| Wilco (The Album) - have heard a few songs from this floating around over the past months but hadn't downloaded the whole thing until this weekend. It's quite good and I'm really enjoying it. I gotta lotta love for Jeff Tweedy - such an excellent writer/performer! | |

The Wilco album is very good, I agree Just bought "The First Days Of Spring" by Noah And The Whale It's about the singer's breakup with girlfriend Laura Marling and is nothing like the "jaunty" previous album. It's an excellent album and well worth listening to. I've said elsewhere, it reminds me of early Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, which is no bad thing "The First Days Of Spring" will be in all the Best Of 2009 Lists

| Have bought 2 new albums over the past couple of weeks, and both are excellent:
Avett Brothers, "I And Love And You" I was really pleased with this set. Solid pretty much the whole way through. A couple of really fantastic tracks, and the rest are all better than average.
Fanfarlo, "Reservoir" This is a real treat! I'd heard the song "I'm A Pilot" on the radio about a week ago, and it sounded great, so I checked into the band and liked everything I heard! I got the deluxe edition, with some decent bonus tracks.

Good choice Hotblack but you might need cheering up a bit after a few listens. Just ordered: (These won't cheer you up by the way!) We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River - Richmond Fontaine Hyperboreans - Jackie Oates I agree with ChrissieinFL, Fanfarlo are worth a listen. As I've said elsewhere, like Arcade Fire only not as good (but still very good)

| Finally got around to getting Spiritualized 'Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space' (the original pill version, for £2!, as couldn't afford one of the re-issues...even though there is a choice of 3 versions of re-issue, depending on how wealthy you are, and how much bonus material you desire) Also got TV on the radio 'Dear Science' | |

| Last two albums I bought were both downloads - Fever Ray's hauntingly beautiful self-titled LP which is my album of 2009... and the instrumental version of Doves' 'Kingdom Of Rust', so I can ruin all those lovely songs with Lady GaGa acapellas, as is my wont. | |

Aww, thanks for thinking of me, I could have even collected it myself when passing... as not so very far away, and saved on the postage too! My downloaded stuff, still doesn't seem to get the same attention from me as when I have it physically on a CD.
