| Where did you get that info? So far there is nothing on either the official Elbow site or the Wembley Arena site. I also haven't received any emails from the band's site admin or whoever sends these things out.
IFthis is true then for me it's the beginning of the end. I loathe huge gigs like that.

What? Be-have! It's Elbow for goodness sake. There aren't many bands in the world who are arguably more enjoyable when playing to 10,000 people as they are to ten, but Elbow are. Don't begrudge them their moment in the big time. No one deserves it more. EDIT: The info came from an e-mail mail out.

| I've just received the email. Bloody hell!!!!!!!
I certainly don't begrudge the band their success. It's well deserved and about time too. I'm very happy for them that things are finally going their way big time.
To be selfish for a moment they still feel like my band; my little secret that I know deserve to be heard by everybody but I want to keep to myself because they are so special. Huge gigs can divorce a band from their original inspiration and the bigger they get the less relevant their music can be. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to Elbow. Since the lads have been together so long and struggled so hard they all seem very grounded so I hope and feel that that won't happen.
It's just that I can't stand huge gigs like that. At the moment I'm not sure I want to go but my best wishes and support are still with them.

| Their newfound immesurable success makes me immesuably proud. Won't be there, but it's a testament to Elbow's achievements - hip hip hooray! | |

| Well, I might have considered it, but we'll only just have arrived back from Canada the Sunday before, and we have to go via Heathrow for that, so it'll be time for a weekend at home by then! | |

| I notice seats aren't available in the best blocks (N6 and S6). Anyone know if they're sold out in those blocks, or not on sale yet? | |

FYI, we stood at Porchester Hall, Brixton, Festival Hall (for the encore), Glastonbury and Latitude. :-)

| Wish them well, and hope the bigger venue will suit them. Hell they deserve the crack, but I understand the intimacy issues. Sadly, too much hassle for me (some fan eh !), but family responsibilities are tough for us with our son so can't really get away on our own much. Enjoy everyone who's going, something to look forward to. | |

| It being near my birthday and looking for an excuse to go to London for the first time in years, I was wondering about going. Only thing that puts me and Mr W off - like a few folk here - is that it is an arena.
For those who have been before, is it a real nasty, soulless shed? Or is it OK if you're standing?

| I've never been to Wembley arena, but one of the best gigs I went to was Muse at the MEN. However I think you need to be standing, and get as close as you feel comfortable with. Then it's as good as a theatre, but with a bigger atmosphere, and an underlying sense of smugness over the people at the back | |

| Thanks MT! Going for it now. Was the Muse gig when they'd just done Black Holes & Revelations and gone massive? I'd heard they were just mind-blowingly good and carried off the whole arena thing really well. - MagicalTrevor wrote:

ROFL! Absolutely. Watching your fave band from the Gods and a pair of bins just doesn't cut it...
