| I had a rather awkward moment when my dad came to talk to me immediately after I'd finished reading the last page. I had to explain that I was *fine*, the uncontrollable sobbing was completely normal! | |

| I teach primary school children (Year 6 - 10/11 year old) and the boys are really tough cookies - or so they think. I read 'Street child' by Berlie Doherty to them and I saw the odd tear creeping into their eyes. They were swallowing back the tears. | |

| Oh bless! I have memories of long car rides, with my mum reading Goodnight Mr Tom to my brother, and having to stop because they were both crying too hard to read! | |

| Is Russell Brand's any good? I love autobiographies, but generally don't bother with blatantly ghost written ones or flavour of the month celebs.
Just started Adrian Mole & the Weapons of Mass Destruction with Stuart Maconie's Adventures of the High Teas cued up when Mr W's finished with it.

| Most of its about sex, as you can imagine with it being Russel Brand's, but yeah... I'm enjoying it. | |

| Just finished reading a couple of good music books:
The Beatles, a bio by Bob Spitz. It's several years old and I'd never had a chance to sit down with it up until now, as it's a fairly long book. But it was worth the time invested; Spitz writes the narrative in a very engaging way and has a fresh approach to the story of their lives and music. It never bored me, and considering I've read just about every Beatle book out there, that's saying something.
The Road to Woodstock, by Michael Lang. Lang is the promoter who developed the idea for the Woodstock music festival, and his behind-the-scenes stories of the performers and the music were very interesting.

| Peter James - Dead Tommorow typical CID / murder investigation pretty good
The Lost Labrynth - Will Adams a bit difficult to get into, but getting better in the run in.
Also - Why are there two "What are You reading" Threads ? - can someone merge them or is it too late

| Have just finished reading 'The Godfather' and have now moved on to 'Omerta' also by Mario Puzo. Will probably move on to something a bit lighter after this, maybe a Tom Clancy or something. Love a bit of action, so I do. | |

| Just finished a Clive Cussler novel as donated to me by my brother-in-law, which was the most boring book I've ever read in my life, at least in terms of the way it's written. Good cure for insomnia though! | |

| Faceless Killers - Henning Mankell
The first of the Wallander stories. I'm not usually in to crime fiction but having seen the tv adaptations (both British and Swedish) I thought i'd investigate the book. Damn fine it is too.
Just finished One Day by David Nicholls. That was good too.

Hmmm, might have to give that a read, I'm a big fan of both Wallander adaptations and enjoy a good crime novel. The Deeper Meaning Of Liff is one of my current ballycumbers (q.v.), or at least it would be if my other half stopped dalmilling (q.v.)
