| Wait, we're talking about songs we'd like to hear live? I'd love to hear 'crawling with idiot'. Don't recall them playing that on the COT tour (or at least on the few dates I hit). Yeah, I realise it's prolly not gonna happen now, but hey, a boy can dream. right? | |

| Nowt wrong with a wish list, Andy. After all, who'd have thought we'd hear Powderblue live again? Maybe if we chuck a few ideas their way, we might get a surprise come September...? | |

| I like surprises although my wish list would go along the lines of "everything I've never heard them play live" which, while nice, would be tad unreasonable perhaps we should start a MEN wishlist thread... hmmm! *ponders* | |

| I thought I had influenced them for Wembley Arena but it turns out I didn't... After the Southend gig when I got to talk to Craig, I mentioned that Scattered Black & Whites had been top of my wishlist for the longest time, and now that I had seen it several times (from Delamere onwards) that Asleep In The Back was now top of the wishlist. He seemed a little surprised, like they've never even considered bringing it back on the list. Roll on a couple of weeks to Wembley Arena. The band didn't play it of course but the strings girls performed a gorgeous version of it, which was completely unexpected! I had to wonder if what I'd said to Craig had influenced that at all. I took the opportunity at the Bridgewater to ask him about it, and he said that the strings girls chose those songs themselves, so the band had nothing to do with it (well, only in the sense that the idea was for the strings girls to play ones that weren't going to be in the band's setlist). But it was fun for a while to imagine that what I'd said to Craig had made AITB appear at Wembley. | |

| If we're talking about a wishlist for the MEN arena in September, I really hope they play "Mexican Standoff" otherwise we're all going to look really stupid decked out in sombreros | |

| How about a selection for different songs? This for starters - (doubles up for Powder Blue or Audience with the Pope) | |

| Enough of the hats, already... On Mondays, the Guardian G2 supplement has a feature called "Review of Reviews" which gathers together "what the critics made of the latest first nights, big gigs and openings" in the arts world. This week, Elbow and the Halle was one of these events. In brief, this is what the 4 available reviews had to say: The Guardian: "They really must do this more often - If they can fit everybody on the tour bus" 10/10 The Observer: "This is a performance that will be difficult to match" 9/10 The Telegraph: " Very, very lovely indeed" 8/10 The Independent: " Akin to floating through warm honey" 10/10 Overall mark 9/10. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have been there. | |

| I'm actually not that happy that the Observer gave them 9/10 and the telegrapgh only gave them 8/10...they should have got %100. But still, pretty good. | |

I hope they do a DVD to commemorate it. I hope so too, Lynne. Couldn't make last week's gigs due to work commitments, so this would be the next best thing | |

| As to the DVD, I also hope they put out both official audio and video of the show because I imagine they'd be absolutely stellar. BUT... I got shafted on the Abbey Road DVD, 'cause it was never released in a format that is viewable in the US. I even wrote to Fiction Records and pleaded my case, but I never heard back. If they do release any of the Bridgewater shows on some official DVD, I hope they'll have mercy on us American fans for a change - I'm simply itching to give them some of my money and they aren't making it easy for me! | |
