You sure did cut it fine Honorelle. The clock was about to strike 12 and the ticket back into a pumpkin.

Party!

I've just entered a gazillion times. If we all do it, I'm sure we'll stand a chance to pick up some tickets for those who haven't got any yet.

Off to the Bridgwater for my god daughters school awards on Thursday, which I'm really looking forward to, and then I'll be able to visualise the beauty that will hypnotize me in exactly 7 days time....... sunny

It really is, saw Badly Drawn Boy there nearly 5 years ago, the sound is second to none and I don't think there's a bad seat to be had. Certainly it's the most excited I've ever been before a gig in all 20 years of going out watching live music. Very Happy

PostSubject: Re: Elbow & The Hallé Orchestra   Elbow & The Hallé Orchestra - Page 14 Icon_minitimeFri 03 Jul 2009, 06:10

Hi all, for those that haven't been to the Bridgwater before, as stated in previous post, I was in there last night. Those that have side seats (not stalls) and centre stalls have in my opinion the best seats and as anyone can testify after seeing a seating plan of the place, the side stalls start a little further back than the centre ones, where i will be. In essence, there really does not appear to be a bad seat in the place. I was sat towards the middle of circle (Row T SEAT 24), nothing wrong at all with the view.

On the down side, the parking underneath the hall, cost us £8.60 between 6pm and 9.30pm, it might be worth biting the bullet though, as Manchester city centre is a nightmare for parking at the moment and roads are closed everywhere. However those on public transport, easy peasy, a tram to GMEX.

Trying to visualise the band there next week was an unbeleivable thought, it's just a stunning venue with a crystal clear sound. Bring it on....... cheers

Oooo, Pete Michell is so rude!! Apparently there is/was a photo of Guy in the Metro walking down the street...and Pete said, "there you were [in the photo] with yuor belly hanging over your shirt..to be fair.... balh blah..."

I hope he didn't wound Guy, but I thought that was mean. And, as if that is a bad thing. One look through this forum would show that not only do we think that it isn't a bad thing, but we love him for it!! Jerk... Evil or Very Mad

I think Mitchell and Guy have known each other for a good few years, hence the comments, am sure Guy's heard worse things in his life, I saw the pic in the paper, I thought good on him, from the neck down it was like looking at myself !!

Not the biggest Pete Mitchell fan, but the way he's promoted Manchester music in the past is to his credit (sorry for going off topic...) !

Hey SG, It was in the MEN about 2 weeks ago, just walking down Cross St with a check shirt and jeans on carrying a bottle of water, nothing of any real interest really, the trappings of fame eh ? ha !

I saw Zappa Plays Zappa at The Bridgewater the other week and parked at a place called Park Avenue which is just across the road attached to an Audi garage. £4 and importantly no queing to get out (unlike the hour I spent breathing exhaust after another gig at the Hall.

No if anyone has a spare ticket??
