| Anyone else going to see them on the forthcoming tour? Elbow and Kloot in such a short space of time of one another, yay! | |

| I'm still hoping that they'll come around to the U.S. at least once so I can have the chance to see them. And yeah, Elbow has close ties with IAK and Doves (bit funny that all 3 albums are excepted to release in 2008). Kloot is on the Skinny Dog Records label that Guy owns with one of the members and they've performed live together as well. I recall seeing a video or two of Bramwell (the lead singer) and Guy singing together on youtube, I have no idea if it's still there or not. | |

I Am Kloot have only recently come to my attention. It was a great surprise to find out that John Bramwell and I used to knock around together when we were in our early teens. There was a group of us. We all used to visit each other's homes and sit around listening to Beatles and Floyd albums in each other's bedrooms. John always carried a guitar around with him even then. I haven't been in touch or even seen him in over 20 years. Good to see he's doing alright. I've half a mind to go to Oxford to see them on the opening night of their tour on Monday.

| I actually got into IAK from comments on another Elbow fan message board and have loved them ever since. Yes, there's quite a connection (apart fromt hem being good mates) - Elbow produced and contributed to the IAK "Natural History" album (inlcuding Guy doing backing vocals on To You and Dark Star among others) and I think they were involved in the recording of their most recent album too. I was lucky enough to see Guy come on stage and do a duet of To You with John Bramwell in Manchester a couple of years ago - wonderful. One video of it is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXmCN6Udj1o&feature=related - I think there are others. | |

It's dutch slang for 'testicle', but that's not where the band got the name from. The general consensus is that the band got the name from the movies Klute and Sparticus.

Mine's still in the post A similar experience to the one many people has with SSK I think. Whatever, I'm really looking forward to hearing it; the preview clips on their website sound as good as ever!

| I was slightly disappointed with Moolah Rouge, but there's a huge possibility it's a grower and I haven't been able to give it the full chance that it requires. | |

It is a grower, but I'd probably say it's their worst album tho. I'm not overly keen on the 'live' production. Still a good album tho, just not as great as their others.

Yeah, I remember having their last three albums on heavy rotation for a while but I stopped listening to it after the second listen through. Still an amazing band, but this is definitely their worst.

| Well, I must confess that I expected that Moolah Rouge won't be that good. We've got a guy here who writes reviews in local newspapers. Everything he writes in a review is completely opposite to the real value of the album. For PMR he wrote that it's fantastic and that previous albums were crappy... So, I guessed that it must be the worst album...But I haven't decided yet if I like it...I need to give it time... | |

| I'm actually really enjoying Moolah Rouge, it's felt like classic Kloot right from first listen to me, although the first 2 albums will probably always be my favourites it has to be said. Looking forward to Saturday! | |

| Wonderful, it was an amazing evening! The show was fantastic, a great mix of old and new ("...In what is fast becoming a tradition for the evening, this one's a new song...") and the new songs off Moolah Rouge blended brilliantly with the old favourites. I loved Moolah Rouge from the start, but know some people didn't, but have also heard people say that seeing the songs live got them into it - I can understand that (dare I say it , I had a similar experience with SSK, I didn't *truly* deeply connect with a lot of it until I'd seen them live). They were obviously loving being back home in Manchester and it was a good atmosphere, although a bit too much gassing and not enough listening in the audience at times (and it got commented on! ) Johnny did a couple of gorgeous solo spots (Astray, No Fear of Falling) while the others popped out for a fag and at the other end of the spectrum there were more than a couple where they really rocked, includig my favourite off the new album, Suddenly Strange, and of course Life in a Day. Finishing off with I Believe, a great evening. And I've just heard on another thread that they're supporting at Delamere. Wow. | |

| Sounds like a top night Glendarian, thanks for that. Really happy they're now at Delamere so will see them after all yay! Glad they said something to the 'gassers', why do they bother going to the gig in the first place? | |

definitely there isn't a song on that album that annoys me on their other albums there's always at least one that I can't stand

- I Am Kloot's singer/songwriter John Bramwell plays 2 solo shows in Manchester. He will be playing at Spinningfields on the 3rd October and at Night and Day on the 27th November. (It's the Night and Day birthday party and John promises a 90 minute set containing new songs.)
