| Something pretty personal to myself..........'Bizarre love Triangle' - New Order
Every time i think of you I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find Living a life that I can't leave behind There's no sense in telling me The wisdom of a fool won't set you free But that's the way that it goes And it's what nobody knows While every day my confusion grows Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say
I feel fine and I feel good I'm feeling like I never should Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday I'm not sure what this could mean I don't think you're what you seem I do admit to myself That if I hurt someone else Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say

| Yep. Another lyric that used to have me in tears was:
Of the love we should say this: There were switches never flicked
Still gets me sometimes...

| David Ford's Song For The Road is the most beautiful love song ever written*.
Well the day casts down Lengthy shadows on unfamiliar towns I drove 300 miles from the place I call home And I tip my hat to the Angel of the North
And the sun sets fire to the heavens On the hills over Sheffield tonight And I'll sail over this countryside with new friends and old And we are no where, but man, we're alright
So you can keep your belief in whatever I'll wear my cynicism like a tattoo While poets try to engineer definitions of love You know all I can think of is you
And I can't wait to see you on Sunday Far from the traffic and the smoke and the noise For this evening I will play back every message that you sent And I will sleep to the sound of your voice
Now I don't lightly use words like forever But I will love you til the end of today And in the morning when I remember everything that you are I know I'll fall for you all over again
I know someday this all will be over And it's hard to say what most I will miss Just give me one way to spend my last moments alive And I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this
*I reserve the right to have a new 'most beautiful love song ever written' tomorrow.

| The melody is important but for me, a song is a poem set to music. These are some of my favourite lyricists.
She came from Greece, she had a thirst for knowledge She studied sculpture at St Martin's college That's where I, caught her eye Common People - Pulp
I buy her all the right clothes And pretty jewels to wear My friends say she's a dumb blonde But they don't know she dyes her hair She thinks the fighting in Central America's easily solved But what to wear to Bel Air Premieres Is a problem she could never resolve
You ask me do I love you Does the Pope live in the woods Quad Erat Demonstrandum baby "Oh, you speak French!" Airhead - Thomas Dolby
I don't believe it! There she goes again She's tidied up and I can't find anything! She Blinded Me With Science - Thomas Dolby
Mott the Hoople and the game of life Andy Kaufman in the wrestling match Monopoloy, Twenty One, Checkers and Chess Mr Fred Blassie in a breakfast mess Let's play Twister, lets play Risk See you in Heaven if you make the list
Moses went walking with the staff of wood Newton got beaned by the apple good Egypt was troubled by the horrible asp Mr Charles Darwin had the balls to ask Man on the Moon - R.E.M.
There are so many, I can't mention them all.

| Dylan has always been one of my favourites and this was one of my favourite songs -
Don't think twice
It aint no use to sit and wonder why, babe It dont matter, anyhow An it aint no use to sit and wonder why, babe If you dont know by now When your rooster crows at the break of dawn Look out your window and Ill be gone Youre the reason Im travlin on Dont think twice, its all right
It aint no use in turnin on your light, babe That light I never knowed An it aint no use in turnin on your light, babe Im on the dark side of the road Still I wish there was somethin you would do or say To try and make me change my mind and stay We never did too much talkin anyway So dont think twice, its all right
It aint no use in callin out my name, gal Like you never did before It aint no use in callin out my name, gal I cant hear you any more Im a-thinkin and a-wondrin all the way down the road I once loved a woman, a child Im told I give her my heart but she wanted my soul But dont think twice, its all right
Love it............. | |

| US got an extra track (b-side) in this country and Japan got 2 extra b-sides on their version. Every so often. ticky, you will see mention on forums of the long anticipated double b-side elbow album which we are still waiting on being released. We are gradually wanting to add some live radio sessions on Elbowfans Ning site...I'l see if they did it live on the radio at all. But not unfortunately the tracks that have already been commercially released and can be bought on albums/singles. The discography on Ning isn't quite complete yet, but... http://www.songmeanings.net/artist/view/songs/6978/ shows all the songs written and released by Elbow so far, that we know about, apart from 'Vum Garda' and 'Every bit the Little Girl' which no one has attempted to add to the lyrics site yet, as I suspect there are some nonsense lyrics in there, like on the backing to Bones of you... So from there and the discog, you can check out what Elbow songs you havn't heard yet | |

| Don't you know you've got your Daddy's eyes, Daddy was an alcoholic, but your mother kept it all inside, threw it all away. - Alcoholic, Starsailor.
Transport, motorways and tramlines, starting and then stopping, taking off and landing, the emptiest of feelings, disappointed people, clinging on to bottles, and when it comes it's so, so, disappointing.
Let down and hanging around, crushed like a bug in the ground. Let down and hanging around.
Shell smashed, juices flowing wings twitch, legs are going, don't get sentimental, it always ends up drivel. One day, I am gonna grow wings, a chemical reaction, hysterical and useless hysterical and
let down and hanging around, crushed like a bug in the ground. Let down and hanging around.
Let down, again, Let down, again, Let down.
You know, you know where you are with, you know where you are with, floor collapsing, falling, bouncing back and one day, I am gonna grow wings, a chemical reaction, [You know where you are,] hysterical and useless [you know where you are,] hysterical and [you know where you are,]
let down and hanging around, crushed like a bug in the ground. Let down and hanging around.
Speechlessly good there. Let down by Radiohead.

| Last Goodbye, by Jeff Buckley...a bit melancholy, but so incredibly gorgeous....
This is our last goodbye I hate to feel the love between us die But it's over Just hear this, and then I'll go You gave me more to live for More than you'll ever know
This is our last embrace Must I dream and always see your face Why can't we overcome this wall Well, maybe it's just because I didn't know you at all
Kiss me, please kiss me But kiss me out of desire, babe, and not consolation You know it makes me so angry 'cause i know that in time I'll only make you cry, this is our last goodbye
Did you say "No, this can't happen to me," And did you rush to the phone to call Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind Saying maybe you didn't know him at all You didn't know him at all, oh, you didn't know
Well, the bells out in the church tower chime Burning clues into this heart of mine Thinking so hard on her soft eyes and the memories Offer signs that it's over... it's over
