Elbow adds headline dates in the States!

Hadn't seen anyone else post this yet, so for anyone on this side of the pond who may be interested, here ya go!

Elbow Confirm Headline Shows In The US
Elbow are very pleased to announce a short string of US shows for the summer.

Around the band's support dates with Coldplay, Elbow will play concerts in Los Angeles, Washington DC and Atlanta.

Here's a full rundown of the dates:

22nd July - The Wiltern, Los Angeles, CA (Onsale 4th April)

4th Aug - 9:30 Club, Washington, DC (Onsale 2nd April)

8th Aug - Center Stage Theatre of Atlanta, Atlanta, GA (Onsale 3rd April)

WAHHHHOOOOO! Atlanta here I come...even got friends there whose couches I can sleep on and whose cars I can hijack!

New York is right around the corner from their Mass. gig with Coldplay. I shall remain hopeful.

After all, they don't come over to your side of the pond very often...

It's a possibility, although probably not. That's quite a distance from me and we've already got a summer vacation planned.

It's not so easy picking up and leaving around here. I've got lots of animals needing me, with pet sitter not always available, kids who would need to be worked into the equation somehow, etc...

Still thinking it would be so great if they added a closer show on there somewhere.

I've decided to forgo the festival and have purchased tickets for the DC show. We'll do an overnight. Now all I have to do is work out the minor details such as, fly or drive, babysitter, petsitter, etc.

Plenty of time to work it all out!

I'm fairly jazzed.

I just bought my tix for the Atlanta show this past weekend...they're general admission floor, so I'm planning to get there early so I can smack people around and get right up front!

Question: How happy am I?
Answer: Very.

Yes, I've looked like a complete lemon on many occasions: skulking outside the venue - in the cold, just to get a spot up front. Hell, I don't care! It really is the place to be! (Erm, up front I mean - not outside in the cold! )

Although, I'm thinking maybe we should be curbing our violent tendencies a little...I mean I've never contemplated armed robbery before!

You're a good person, Jones! *sigh* Oh, alright, we won't rob anybody. Maybe I can at least steal all the change from under the pillows on the sofa though...

Joy...rapture...ecstasy (the legal kind, I mean)! Just strolled out to the mailbox and found my tickets to Elbow's Atlanta show...now I'm all excited all over again!!

I SOOO envy you - I don't have any Elbow concerts for the foreseeable future.

Actually, I tell a lie - I'm seeing an audience with GG in July - but I don't think he's playing any music. I feel better already!

Just managed to make a proper road trip out of the upcoming concert in Atlanta...my girlfriend and her husband will be accompanying me, since they are newly-converted Elbow fans (courtesy of a little prodding from yours truly)! We're planning the driving and hotel arrangements today...CAN'T WAIT FOR AUGUST!!
