| Phew, I got home to London about an hour ago and have spent all that time going through all the new posts on this thread from the last week! May I just say what an absolute pleasure it was to meet all of you lovely, lovely people. It was like a little Elbow family. Can't wait to see some of you again for MEN. And thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful photos! - MagicalTrevor wrote:
I can't stop grinning at this picture, teehee. What a brilliant photo, and thanks so much to Mark and Craig for humouring us after what must have been a very long and tiring day!! - MrsMagicalTrevor wrote:
- My fave moment of the night was when I told Mark that Dave was MT and he exclaimed "You're MagicalTrevor!" and gave him a big hug
I loved that moment, it was so sweet!! ^_^ - My Bury Vest wrote:
- Managed to swipe Mark's setlist at the end as they were soaking up the applause.
Haha so that was you!! I was the girl who was up there at the front too and I was just eyeing up Mark's setlist but then you yoinked it... I got Pete's instead. I was there with my friend Dave so we wanted to get a second one for him. The extraordinarily lovely harpist, who was still on-stage at the time, gave him her setlist. It's unique where she has ticked off the songs to indicate which ones she plays on. - hilaryg wrote:

| Amazing gig last night. I very much doubt I will ever witness anything like that again. Just keeping my fingers crossed for an album and DVD release. Those that were there would have probably heard somebody shout 'Hilda, Is this Newborn? It's Audrey' just before the band played 'Newborn'. That person was Jimi from Doves. He was sat next to me in the gallery and looked to be thoroughly enjoying himself. | |

| Haha, that was Jimi? And I thought he would have known better than to heckle... He was in the Britons Protection before the gig and ended up right in front of my field of vision, where he was on the other side of the bar trying to get served. I just couldn't take my eyes off him and ended up blushing really badly. Funnily enough I didn't even know what he looked like until a couple of hours earlier when reading a small Doves article in the MEN paper... | |

| Haha, wasn't Guy's response "Of course it's Newborn Yasmin, behave"? Was obviously someone who knew him.
Jimi was in the stalls bar at the interval with a small group of people hanging round queuing up to go and shake his hand.

| He said something like "Pipe down, of course it is." I seem to recall. He did tell people to "Behave." previously when some people were either calling out or whistling... can't remember which! | |

| Just returned home from our short overnight stay in Manchester.
The hold-ups on the M6 on the drive back all pale into insignificance after what was a fabulous gig last night and a wonderful time we had in Manchester.
Fortunate enough to have a great view of the whole show being in Row H in the stalls. ( much closer than when we saw the boys at Wembley)
The whole event was great , and the link-up with Castlefield added to the occasion (reminded me of the Last Night of The Proms !!!)
I confess to almost being a tad dissappointed at one point, thinking that they might not do any different songs to those played Wembley. However, this all changed in the second half when they played a few old classics like Great Expectations and Powder Blue.
Almost got overcome with emotion during Some Riot and Friend of Ours.
Special mention also to the Halle Youth Orchestra who were magnificent (as were the band and the Orchestra and audiences of course!)

Actually, this can't be right cos they are playing Oxegen tomorrow, they aren't in NA till 22 July. This is what beer does to you, kids. And they're supposedly doing T in the Park as well, even though neither are on the official site. Maybe they're moonlighting?
