| I think Snow Patrol are fantastic. Have to thank them for introducing me to Elbow 18 months ago when they played with them at GMex
Thanks! | |

| I quite enjoy them as well. Would have liked to have seen that live double bill, though I have to say, I think it should've been the other way around, with Elbow headlining. Just sayin'... | |

| I tried to listen to Snow Patrol....Some nice songs, but overall - I'm not impressed. I also believe that Elbow was the one that should've been headlining... | |

Ditto. They don't have that 'edge' or 'grit', that power and emotion, that Elbow have. Mind you, neither do all those other bands like (Not)Keane and Dullplay and they sell shedloads (sadly).

You're right, although I must admitt that I love Dullplay's (haha ) early works (before Americans told them that they were superalternativehistorychangingband - and Chris Martin really believed it ). Spies is one of my all time favourites.

| Now, now, guys! I am a big fan of both Dullplay and Snore Patrol and its thanks to Chris Martin exclaiming that Cast of Thousands was the best album ever that I discovered Elbow. Also, Gary from Slow Patrol (hehe any other suggestions?) pushes them at every available opportunity, so that can't be a bad thing, can it? | |

| Snow Patrol varies for me. A few of their songs i found really catchy and good, others I just found boring. Still, thats sort of the same for all bands. | |

| Well said Jones - my thoughts exactly.
And I saw the Snow Patrol/Elbow combo in Edinburgh for T on the Fringe. That was a good night, but of course, would have liked to have seen more of Elbow!

Um... I don't like Snow Patrol (although I've only heard the aforementioned MOR Arse Gravy album) so I should probably leave this thread.

| I think their new album is okay. Sounds like some of the other stuff in places, but they do have some half decent tracks.
off topic slightly, but they usually have a message on album notes "mothers and fathers of the world be patient with your children" - which I think is a good thing to aim for (as a frustrated Father of two !)

| Snow Patrol are kind of old hat now. A new album doesn't have any impact on my life whatsoever. They sound ok, but that's just it, I don't think they inject any soul or feeling into their music, so it just fades into the background. Chasing Cars was the only song that they have done recently that I liked even slightly, and even that became repetitive and boring after listening to it 3 times. They could be good, they just need to be a bit more inventive with their sound. | |

ha, I like that. Does that mean SP are officially "dad rock"? Actually I don't mind "Take Back The City"... I mean, it's got the same monochrome sound as everything else I've heard by them, but I like the tune.

| "If I lay here" was a bit boring but I heard a few other tracks of them at Last.fm that I really liked, some of them were even quite stompy and with a lot more distorted guitars than Coldplay. I am quite glad if I hear at normal radio Snow Patrol or Coldplay, it's at least as close as it can get to Elbow, which are only played a few times in two more indie orientated stations in Berlin... | |
