A fantastic cover version. I know some people aren't exactly enamoured by Snow Patrol, but I do think that this is a brilliant rendition.

I agree with you there Jones I go on and off of snow patrol, but Gary doesn't have a good enough voice for it

It's nice but I don't think Gary doesn't has the passionate singing voice that Guy has, so it doesn't sound quite right.

Definitely agree. I just think it's cool that they covered Elbow.

It's always great to see that there are more well-known bands appreciating Elbow. I'd like to hear a Massive Attack version of one of their songs or possibly have Editors cover Elbow, because it'd be interesting to hear their songs in a different way.

Thanks for that. Not a patch on the original but very interesting to hear a different version. I quite enjoyed that.

I blow hot and cold with SP. It was meh. Maybe I'll like it tomorrow. I shall return with a more thought out response.

I don't dislike Snow Patrol, but it occured to me a couple of years ago that many of their songs are actually not much more than simple three - sometimes even two- chord-bashes, wrapped up in fancy arrangements.
I can't help but think that they chose 'One Day' to cover because it wouldn't stretch their limitations too much! It would have been much more interesting to have seen them tackle something more challenging.

Snow Patrol aren't bad, they have some decent tracks.

I've yet to hear a singer these days with a better voice than Guy Garvey, so cudos to Gary and Snow Patrol for doing a cover, I would never have dared

Imagine hearing your song being covered within a year of recording it... what an honour! I think it's a good stab at it.
