That's right: NOTHING from Asleep...! that seems spot on to me .... what an awesome gig, Guy and the lads on top form, pretty emotional in places, that man has a perfect voice, and I even got a wave, and a mention when I shouted out that I came from Skegness !!!!

| I'll second that, set-list looks right - seen elbow 3 times before tonight, have to say tonight was probably the best, maybe the small venue - or the fact that Guy and the band seem so comfortable on stage. New stuff sounded great - definitely more cerebral than SSK, can see the psychedelic influences in some of new the tracks. A really special night - well done to everyone! | |

| Such an awesome gig! We were stood one row behind Emylou123 - could feel her awe/embarrassment. Have attached a link to some reasonably poor shots: Elbow Live | |

That's right: NOTHING from Asleep... Or Cast...! It was too heavy SSK for me, I loved it don't get me wrong, I adore 'With Love' and 'Open Arms' I just think they need to step the setlist up a notch. But not going to be please everyone!

| Sounds like it was a wonderful evening, and a fantastic opportunity to hear songs from the new album live like that. Is that the final setlist (or similar) for the tour too? I'm really looking forward to hearing the new songs (both live and on the album) but I don't think I'm being a dinosaur if I say I really, really hope there'll be a couple of early songs in there too. And what about my "Newborn Live fix"? As you say they can't please everyone and hopefully the new songs will more than make up for the gaps... | |

| Great gig, some of the new stuff is sounding really good - 'The Birds' was a huge opener and while I'm not usually a fan of audience participation it worked very well on 'With Love' (they said they were terrified about playing it, but it sounded great). Would have been nice to have maybe one or two of the old songs, but I've seen them played live many times before - it'd be a shame though if the arena crowds didn't get to hear Newborn live.
On a purely selfish note, thanks for choosing Cambridge - straight on my bike and home before 11pm, lovely job!

| not too enthused about 'with love' but really enjoyed the rest of the new material. while I too would have liked some older material I was very keen to hear the new stuff. for a 'warm up' gig I think the balance was probably about right. and Guy, as always, on fine form. loved the banter | |

| Such a wonderful wonderful evening. Am still on Cloud 9! Felt very priviledged to be there. I thought they might have played a few more from the new album and was gutted they didn't play Newborn but Guy was certainly on form, he really has that extra special something at entertaining folk.
Bring on Nottingham and 02 although nothing will ever beat last night. Couldn't stop smiling the whole night home. Swooooonnn!

| It was a great night and it's virtually impossible to add 6 new songs to a set without making sacrifices somewhere else. Last nights setlist with Newborn, SBAW and Forget Myself would have been pretty close to perfect for me.
Longlegs is spot on, you can't keep everybody happy, not without a four hour set anyway, but it was a good attempt
Initial thoughts on the new stuff: "Open Arms" is the one I can't get out of my head this morning "The Night Will Always Win" is the one that brings a tear to my eye "With Love" is the one I'm not sure about
Nice to meet some of you folks again and we recognised a few others but didn't get chance to speak so "hello".
Home by 3am, a thoroughly lovely day.

| Nice! Sounds like it was all that and then some! Glad to hear that the reactions to the new material were generally quite positive. As for it being a set list heavier on the new than the old, I think Sparky made a good point - if you're adding something, then you've gotta subtract something else out of necessity. Still, there may be an opportunity to hear a few of the AITB/COT classics yet - maybe as the tour progresses, they'll throw us long-timers a bone now and again! I'm thinking (hoping?) that just because they left those out last night, it doesn't mean they're off the list altogether. Last night was a "warm-up" gig, officially, and not part of the tour proper, so maybe they only included the songs they felt they needed to work out a bit more. I mean, I expect they've got Newborn down by now, right? | |

Was it really her birthday?! She was standing right behind us, Spanish I think. She was in the queue earlier shouting saying ' She had come all the way from London' and lots of people laughing!

I agree, I get they don't have so much room for older stuff, as the new songs need love, but they could cut down the SSK tracks and replace them with more back catalogue tunes or just play for 5 hours, that's fine by me too. They did play 8 songs from SSK last night. I agree with Sparky SBAW, Newborn and Forget Myself would've been immense.

| I was close to the guy that sold her the ticket - for an undisclosed amount...
When she informed the queue that it was her birthday and was 'desperate for a ticket' as she'd come 'all the way from London' everyone starting to just sing 'Happy Birthday' to her - so cruel ;-)
