| According to Ents 24 and See, Doves are playing both nights. 'Headliners' advertising does state that some bands will be playing twice. Heaven and Sound are the two bigger capacity venues on the list, holding about 1000-1500 I have a two day ticket, so fingers crossed we get the boys twice. Doves, Elbow and Kloot in the same week, forgive me if I go off the rails into a musical maelstrom. I AM SO EXCITED!! | |

Doves, Elbow and Kloot in the same week, forgive me if I go off the rails into a musical maelstrom. I AM SO EXCITED!! Both days are work days for me so I wouldn't be able to get to whatever venue they're playing in 'til 6 or 6:30, which probably leaves me with little chance to get in... and that's assuming they're even playing during the evening, it could be during the day when I'm at work! I guess I can't really buy a ticket in good conscience knowing that it'll probably be wasted money.

| I reckon 6 or 6.30 should be OK. Remember most other people will be working too. On the Wednesday, if you can't get into Doves, you could go and see the Magic Numbers at the 100 Club. | |

| I knew a couple of months ago, still sad...now it's in print too, atleast we get a tour Greatest Hits Album Due Next Year! In a rather revealing interview with adelaidenow, Jez let slip some of the band's plans for next year. He also says he is not sure whether there will be another doves album. Jez on the possiblity of a new doves album: I think if there is another Doves album - and we're not sure at this moment whether there will be or not - we won't be staring at a blank canvas, but we've got some really strong ideas in front of us," he says. "It was a very slow process to be honest, and I think we were looking for some kind of direction - but something different for us - we didn't really know what we were looking for. "There's a lot of material lying around - some of it finished and some of it just sparks of ideas. If it's possible and we get some time when we get back, we'll start going through it." Jez on the band's plans for 2010.. While this news is disastrous for fans of the band, Williams let slip plans to release a greatest hits of Doves early next year, which will include two new songs. "There's talk of us putting a best-of out next year and then we'll start touring on that," Williams says. "It's a bit of a luxury, really, after putting out four albums but we're going to write some new songs for it or have a look at some of the material we've already got." For those who missed the band's recent east coast tour, all is not lost. The band had planned a more extensive tour of Australia, which would take in all major cities and, despite this having fallen through, Williams says the band will return to Australia next year - following the release of Doves' best-of and perhaps a live experience for fans to own for themselves, in the form of a live album. "We might do that as well, seeing as how we've recorded every single gig on the UK tour," he says. "There is talk of a live album. But we'll be back in Australia for a more extensive tour - possibly for the best-of." Interesting news! Personally, I think a greatest hits album/tour is great news for next year! The band deserve to go out and celebrate the past decade of hard work, which brought us four brilliant albums. The debate begins, what needs to go on the greatest hits lp.. | |

| Hmm. A best of album would be good, but it's a shame they aren't really thinking of doing any new material. Tbh, I can live off KOR and all of the old stuff for now. | |

| I agree WOBLEWoble - even if Elbow brought out a greatest hits album, I wouldn't buy it - (still waiting on the B-sides album though lads). GH albums are just a money making exercise I think. | |

| I think the only benefit of Doves doing it would be to consolidate all of their better songs on one album, but yeah, I agree, I wouldn't buy it, as I have all of their old albums anyway. It's not exactly hard to find the songs you like just by scrolling through your ipod. | |

Same ...bit disappointed with the idea tbh ...more touring sounds good though Found the Jez William's interview where he talks about them possibly not doing any more studio albums a bit if they did a GH like to see them put some Sub Sub on there

| I've got 'This Time I'm Not Wrong' on CD single by Sub Sub feat. Bernard Sumner and it's an absolute classic single, absolutely love it. Get it if you can. All I know is 'Spaceface' (super dooper) and 'This time....' by Sub Sub. | |

I know, I have a couple of things, Spaceface included , (love that they've started doing that live again recently) but find them hard to get, or peeps want stupid prices for them That's why I've like to see them included on a GH ,also nice I think to show where the band came from, and where they are now ..surely the point of a retrospective ...

If needs be - you can download singles from iTunes and make up a greatest hits folder of your own. Sure that is what most peeps do.

| Sad news, I was really looking forward to this:
THELONDONPAPER HEADLINERS CANCELLED This festival has been cancelled by the organisers, confirmed by doves management. A statement from the festival organisers reads:
NI Free Newspapers Limited owner of thelondonpaper and MAMA Festivals have cancelled the 2 night, multi-venue live music event, thelondonpaper HEADLINERS that was scheduled for 16 and 17 September 2009 in central London.
Both parties felt it would be inappropriate to go ahead with the event in light of thelondonpaper's imminent closure.
It is with great regret that we have reached this decision however investing in an event of this scale when the paper is due to close the following day would be an irresponsible move. Obviously, this will be disappointing for readers who have purchased tickets but refunds will be offered and customers should contact the ticket agent from which they purchased their tickets to be reimbursed.
