| Wooow, late 2009! I'm not used to releasing plans like this (for example U2 - 5 years)!!! But that's pretty cool!! New album = new tour!!! | |

| Hmm... I'd be very surprised if Elbow's next (proper, studio) album was out before late 2010. | |

Wellll....from what I've heard they've been writing and putting down stuff every day while on tour, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did manage it by the end of this year.

| I agree, this album won't be released until late 2010. Does anyone else remember when the TSSK was supposed to be released? They were aiming for an early release date for that and it was released over a year after their predicted release date. In all honesty, I hope they don't rush the upcoming LP too much and feel as though they have to release an album quickly after receiving nominations for their work. I'm not used to such an immediate expected release date, especially from a band who usually takes 2-3 years between releasing albums. | |

| Yea, that's what I meant, they were delayed because of Garve having a appendicitis and poor Bryan Glancy died. But maybe they are luckier this time and won't have trouble like that. Would be great, innit? | |

| If they are busy in Scotland yet they might make it in time. But I really hope, they will do some more rough stuff again. I like tracks like "Audience with the pope" by now and the sweet memory of the handkiss made "One day like this" a lot more nice but still I'd love to hear some shoegazy stuff like good ol' Asleep... | |

| I'm guessing it's an outside shot we'd see something new on the tour like "Brambles" (...friend of mine...some riot). Did anything from Cast of Thousands appear on tour before the album came out? | |

- Elbow will not release their fifth studio album until September 2010, the band's guitarist Mark Potter has confirmed.
The group have been writing new songs on the road as they continue to promote their 2008 disc The Seldom Seen Kid.
"We never thought we'd still be touring and promoting the album at this point - it's gone crazy," Potter told the Daily Star. "But we're determined to crack on with writing the new one and getting it out by September 2010.
"We've been setting up little writing rooms in every place we tour - it's nice because it's become like a musical journal of our life on the road."
The band first started recording the album in February while on the remote Scottish island of Mull.
Speaking at the time, frontman Guy Garvey commented: "[It's] the most beautiful place on earth."

That would be brilliant - I'm spending a fortune on ebay trying to get old singles!
