| I'm going to have a rant (for a change). Tickets for The National at Manchester Academy in November went on sale on Friday morning. I tried to buy a pair this evening, only to find that the event had sold out.
I looked on Ebay and, of course, found dozens on sale at vastly increased mark-ups, so I took the plunge at double the face values. I'm a tight Northerner!! It rankles to be paying over-the-odds to profiteers for tickets, with the added frisson of wondering whether your tickets are going to arrive or not, but what can you do? I remember the days when you could just turn up and pay on the door. Now EVERYTHING seems to sell out in about an hour.
I should enter the marketplace myself to get my own back: I should be buying up tickets for popular acts I don't particularly like and sell them on to their fans at extortionate prices.
Do two wrongs make a right? Would this be bad karma or would I be restoring the cosmic balance in some way?
Pish.
I should be just thankful that I am able to afford these fripperies, I suppose. | |

| Oh we're not coming now... I was coming oopp north for a few gigs and the main reason has been cancelled, so instead it's Hawley at the Jazz Cafe, I'm so gutted, but I can't do everything, not with Glastonbury in three weeks. I was looking forward to trying out the new tent! Have a fab fab time and can't wait to read all about it over in Hawley land!! | |
