| Understandable, but can't help thinking that Maiden's audience, after 36 years, is probably mostly on the sedate side these days | |

| I Am Kloot: Manchester Lowry 4th May On the strength of United's excellent first leg result last night I have given my ticket away for the return game at Old Trafford and will now be able to cross the Irwell and watch the the gig, thus avoiding a potentially difficult "Club versus mrs sparky" fixture clash | |

| Courteeners - Delamere Forest Saturday Death Cab For Cutie - Manchester Monday
I might be getting a bit too old for the Courteeners but it's always a good day at Delamere (we've seen Elbow / Kloot and Doves / Delphic in previous years) and the weather forecast looks good. | |

| Pulp. Hyde Park. Sunday. Was expecting them to be good, but the unbelievably favourable reviews they have been getting since the come back has got me really excited now. | |

| Well thanks to Elbow I've managed to get my hands on a couple of Razorlight tickets How could this be? It's all to do with Q Magazine & Blackberry. I got a tweet from Blackberry asking who I thought was the greatest band/artist in the passed 25 years. I replied Elbow (obviously!) Well I won hehe. So thanks to the Elboys I'm off to the big smoke on the 19th July to see a rather intimate Razorlight gig. Cheers Guys. http://news.qthemusic.com/2011/06/razorlight_to_intimate_q25_gig.html | |

| Re Pulp. MBV, sadly it seems as if this tour may be their last, if the rather cryptic comments by Jarvis at the end of Sunday's show meant anything. They're playing at the Brixton Academy at the end of August (tickets on sale tomorrow), and that might well be it. Which is a shame because Pulp were predictably brilliant. That's not nostalgia speaking. They were really really good. Being in the midst of that huge crowd (60000 I believe) when the opening track - "Do You Remember The First Time?" - started was electrifying, you could hardly hear the band for the mass singalong. Wonderful. In fact it was all quite emotional, a lady near me was in floods during "Something Changed" and there were a few damp eyes at the end. It wasn't a perfect gig, a bit too much Different Class, no Lipgloss or Joyriders, but we did get my 2 fave Pulp songs, Babies and This Is Hardcore, plus a glorious version of Sunrise which was a real bonus. What's more the sound could have been a little louder, the set a couple of songs longer, but really that is nitpicking. Superb.
As were TV on The Radio. Really good they were. Grace Jones was exactly what you'd expect, and entertaining enough, The Hives tried hard, but really the presence of the headliners overshadowed everything.

| I saw Archive last Saturday (free concert) and it has been a very good performance with classics as 'I find that it's so hard', 'Bullets', 'You make me feel'... . I like this band but my favourite period is around 2002 with the album 'You all look the same to me'. | |
