| The original one is great! Really great. Elbows is just a different version. It's Guys voice again. Massive Attack was sung by a woman, you can't compare them. I love both versions! | |

| Possession by Sarah Mclachlan.
I've always loved the song, although I'm not a huge Sarah Mclachlan fan. Heard it this morning and could imagine Elbow covering it brilliantly.

| Me too. And me neither. Also love LOVE Lover You Should've Come Over, but I think Last Goodbye would more suit Elbow. Don't you just think Guy's voice would be about perfect for the song?! | |

| Another one - I've just been listening to This Is Hardcore by Pulp.
Great song, musically muscular and powerful, building to a climax, but then followed by that glorious 2 minute coda. With Jarvis singing, the song is simply dripping with sleaze, disgust, and (self?) loathing, but behind that there is something else, a kind of desperate sadness. I'm not sure if an Elbow version would work, but it could be fantastic, the band could really do something with the music, and Guy's voice might bring out a different aspect of the song.
I would love to hear it, anyway.

| Wicked song, aye. Dunno about an Elbow version! Maybe it's the sleaze, as you you say. | |

| Having seen Glen Campbell do Witchita Lineman on Jools Holland I thought of Elbow and what their version might sound like. | |

ooh, could be interesting... being (nearly) Mancunian they'd change it to Wythenshawe Lineman though.

| That post took a bit of doing...
A lot of Keane stuff would be good, done by Elbow. Especially Bedshaped.

| Nahh Keane is an Elbow influenced band... that'd be like Genesis covering Kansas. But don't get me wrong, love me Keane... | |
