| Sorry if there is already a thread for this - feel free to move if so - but I saw after the Cambridge warm up a published set list... Was this just for the Cambridge gig? Does it apply to the tour in general? I would have thought the list was changeable and that they might drop a few more in there. I hope so because while a good list it was missing some key favourites! Powder Blue, Scattered Black and Whites, Fugitive Motel and Forget Myself to name but four! Are we to expect nothing from the first two albums? I have been to just one other proper gig in my whole life so please forgive my naivety on this one. I am really not sure how these things work. | |

| Sorry, can't remember where I heard it, but thought Guy mentioned somewhere the tour setlist is still very much under debate. On that basis we can maybe still hope for tracks from AITB & COT, but with a chance it won't be the usual ones just to make it more interesting for the band themselves...? After all, we did get some lesser-heard numbers last time round, like Any Day Now. More guesswork: I suppose the BARB & TSSK-heavy nature of the Cambridge set was mainly to do with it being a warm-up gig after all. | |

| Also, didn't someone mention elsewhere about Pete (?) tweeting that he'd had to go onto YouTube to brush up on how to play some of the old stuff?
If true, this also suggests there could be one or two oldies getting a run-out. I hope so.

On the Radcliffe show on Monday night, they said they had all settled and agreeded on the songs to be played in the setlist... The debate they claimed was on the running order... For me, a no show on Newborn will mean i leave gutted... just personal opinion... plus you can leave out One Day (tin hat on)...

For me, a no show on Newborn will mean i leave gutted... just personal opinion... plus you can leave out One Day (tin hat on)... Haha tin hat! I do admit now that I left my place in the Junction for 'wee' trip when ODLT started up at the end of an encore that included starlings and station approach, and it was then obvious that Newborn or any from COT or AITB or ( a meek whisper) even a b-side was not to be, for the warm up. It did mean I missed Emma R's kiss on the hand through me being obstinate Apart from the new album tracks, it was very much a repeat of the set of the 2008/2009 tour. I think the guys are assuming that there are lots of new TSSK fans filling these arenas, but I'm sure these new fans wouldn't mind if there was just a song or two that they couldn't automatically sing along loudly or clap , or wave their arms to and could just listen to and appreciate instead. 'Bitten by the tailfly' one off comeback was I think really appropriate for the MEN last date, though not in keeping maybe with the vibe of this tour. i guess if they want to keep it up-beat and to be family orientated (Guy did a talk for 300 local primary schoolkids today or yesterday, apparently) So Powderblue, or bitter songs or any with 'F' or buggers in wouldn't be politically correct. There are some songs they have done live before from the first 2 albums like Snooks or Ribcage or the song Asleep in the back that are jolly enough. With the constraints of the time in a set, songs like Towercrane and Weather to Fly and Grounds...would have to stay, but maybe a couple of the others from TSSK could be dropped for a changing wildcard surpise from earlier? and also perhaps a compromise with sometimes 'Scattered b & w, sometimes Newborn? Really hope to hear more from the new album live too.

| How long can we expect the set to last, withstanding all the repartee etc? I just feel 17 songs is a bit brief! Barely over an hour actual performing! Probably just being greedy but heck, it starts at 7! I want to be falling out much later than 8.30! | |

| Guy said, I think on Absolute Radio, that it would be changing each night....
Agree re Newborn, it HAS to be played - however, if Great Expectations replaced it - a worthy compromise would be in place !
You'd imagine a 9.15 start and 10.45 finish, give or take 15 mins. Am about 6 songs through Andy landy's Cambridge recording - pissing meself driving at Guy's banter - the bellowing laughs of the crowd sounded ace !
Looking forward to more comedy chortles in March !

| struggling to find anything about line up / timings for the Glasgow gig.....nothing on the SECC site i could see. doors open at 6.30 according to the tickets, so not sure how long it takes to fill up (think the hall has a max of 12,000 but not sure how many tickets were actually available)
Would the quartet just play along while everyone was getting in ?? - Who knows maybe we won't have them.

| The string quartet played at the last MEN gig for 45 minutes or so as people came in, it was lovely. I'll put my tin hat on and say I'm quite happy not to have Newborn, I'm afraid I'm a heretic who has never quite "got" it, and usually spent that part of the set wondering what the queue to get out of the car park was going to be like. I would be sad not to have SBAW again, but we did get it last tour. Powder Blue or Red would be good to have from AATB. From COT I would LOVE to hear Fugitive Motel again, that would make my night/week/month/year. | |

| Literally everything you just said hilaryg! I am another one who didn't get Newborn. A nice song but not one of my favourites at all.
Red, Powder Blue, SBAW and Fugitive Motel definitely my top picks from the first two albums! The few live performances of Fugitive Motel I have seen on TV etc have been almost better than the album version!

| Oh yes, I would love to hear Red again and I'm sorry that SBAW seems to be gone. But I'm thrilled 'Weather to Fly' hasn't been dropped! I too am suffering from 'One Day' overkill but that's hardly the band's fault and I guess they can never drop it now! As for Newborn, I don't know... I've always loved it when it was part of the show but can't say I'm gutted that it's gone. Maybe a bit of a break from it will be good and bring it back in a few years as a special treat once in a while...? | |
