Single Release ? - Neat Little Rows

Just wondering what the first single off the Album will be
Is Lippy kids just a taster for us, or is that intended to be a release ?

If it's going to be another track, surely we'd have to get wind of that soon,
assuming any release would probably be before the Album release ?

Guess i'm just desperate to hear more

I don't think it's going to be Lippy Kids. It doesn't sound like a radio-friendly song, it's too... mmm I don't know how to say, but I'm sure you understand me.

Im assuming the lippy kids taster is similar to a Cast of Thousands when they put Ribcage out before the single\album.

Also curious to see if they choose different singles for the US, as they did with TSSK; Grounds For Divorce was the lead single there, but here, it was One Day Like This. Which, as it happens, was weird, because One Day Like This became a monster hit over there, and Grounds For Divorce was the song I heard most often over here!

I'm not really surprised about that Chrissie! I've noticed over the years that you Yanks (meant in the nicest possible way) really love your Rock and Roll, don't you?
Anyway, I don't think Lippy Kids will be the first single. I think it was just a special treat for the dedicated fans and that they will unleash one of the more radio friendly songs on the unsuspecting general public!

Ah, Chrissie! It was used quite frequently in movie trailers. And then the following year, I kept hearing instrumental sections from ODLT and I still hear it - it's the song that continually lingers on television. PBS has been using it for one of their promos for at least six months or so. I actually thought it was a weird choice for them to choose it as a US single because it's not the sort of song I'd hear on the radio here.

I wonder if they'll even bother with a proper US single? I mean, there still hasn't been a U.S. release date mentioned...

Anyway, apparently it's going to be "Neat Little Rows" with a mid-February release date. It's unofficial information, but I'm sure we'll be hearing from the band soon if they're aiming for mid-February. We should probably be hearing the track this month, no?

Tell you what, ukkonen, I don't think I watch enough TV/movies... I remember hearing ODLT being used int the trailer for The Soloist, and that's the only time I've heard it used. I heard GFD in a trailer for the Coen Brothers' Burn After Reading (though it didn't turn up in the film itself), and I heard it on TV multiple times on promos and as background music. I've also heard GFD on the radio far more than I've heard ODLT, although I listen to satellite radio, not terrestrial. Don't even know what sort of airplay either song got on regular radio here. I guess it depends on what you watch or listen to, but I always got the idea that GFD was the one that had some traction over here because I hadn't personally caught ODLT being used/played as often.

In any case, I agree that ODLT was an odd choice, as it didn't seem a likely US radio hit to me either. At this point they may not give a toss about having a radio hit here anyway, but I'm still interested to see if they do designate different singles for US/UK again this time.
