Elbow to play summer festivals?

Don't get excited - I just want to see what you long-term Elbow lovers think. Do they do the festivals in between albums, just for the fun of it or is that really it until the next album? Am I just trying to kid myself? If they do play the festivals this summer, at which ones would you like them to perform?

I think not... i seem to remember Garvey saying something about them not playing this year...

I am wishing and hoping and thinking and praying, that because the magical fields of Glasto are 40, Elbow might want to come to the party??

I'd say it was very unlikely they'd do anything this year.

I'd have to agree with the naysayers. Most big bands tend to disappear from view when on recording hiatus and I don't see Elbow being any different. Look at the huuuuuge gap between LOTFW and TTSK. I thought they'd split up at one point!

Mmm, I agree with MrW; most bands don't do festivals if they don't have an album to push.
Also, I think it was Gary from Snow Patrol who once said that it really isn't that much fun trekking from festival to festival, as it is a bit of a logistical nightmare, so there's that to consider. Why put up with all the hassle if you don't have to?
Then again, U2 are doing Glasto and they have never done a festival before...
