Hi everyone,
MAG are running 'Music Beats Mines' and it's incredibly sexy, just ask Guy!
Music Beats Mines – a festival of music, poetry and the arts to save lives and build futures. Have fun and raise vital funds to help conflict-affected communities around the world. Elbow singer Guy Garvey explains...
What I'll be doing is a 'For One Day Only' Busking Tour of Cumbria. The idea is to play 40 min in each of a minimum of 5 market towns or tourist spots in the county, around 95-100 miles round one way, then ending up in Cockermouth, which is where MAG started out before they moved to Manchester. More details on the page.
Thanks!

For some Elbow-themed Christmas presents, you might want to check this impressive list of goodies up for auction for MAG/Music Beats Mines. Items include one of Mark's plectrums, lots of signed singles & albums and an autographed MAG t-shirt.
The auction runs from Friday 27th November to Sunday 6th December.

My Round-Cumbria busk was on Friday, taking in a total of 170 miles, 11 1/2 hours and lots of layers. Here's some video of the exploits. Big thank yous to everyone who sponsored me. x

Ahhh! MAG money on its way now!....didn't realise you were doing it just yet.
You had a cold day for your fingers, brrrr. Well done, you (and to the camera man too!) Some great sounding Roberta Flack and Joni there. What was the song in the underpass, when the 2 walkers came back to you after searching through their pockets? I couldn't recognise it.

Thanks LWD. It was a Frente-style version of Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order.

I've just caught up with this, sorry I missed your wonderful efforts earlier but hopefully made up for it now. It looked fun but cold.
Good on you Mrs W!!

Great stuff Mrs W!
Very brave of you busking in this weather, but visiting five locations and fingerpicking some of the songs is WELL beyond the call of duty, I would have had the gloves on and strictly strummed!
Also nice filming Mr W (I take it it was you holding the camcorder)

Just finished watching your film - I take my hat off to the pair of you. I really enjoyed your playing Mrs W and your commentary Mr W. I am so impressed that you spent your time doing this, it really puts us all to shame. A donation will be winging its way into your pot. WELL DONE!!!
