Just back from a fab trip in Dublin.
Venue was great, a huge country park, very rural. The stage was huge and the Elboys were on form as always.
White Lies were first support band on and they really warmed the crowd up. They were fab.
Elbow came on after, their slot lasted almost an hour which was unexpectedely longer than I'd expected. They did their usual working the crowd.
There were a few youngsters near us who obviously were oblivious of the band but all joined in for the finale of ODLT. Most seemed to really enjoy despite two really annoying girlies behind us talking through Tower Crane. Some people are very disrespectful, or is it my age!
The band seemed to really enjoy themselves as they always do.
The setlist is as follows - I'm not sure if in the correct order but here we go:-
Starlings
Bones of You
Leaders of the Free World
Mirrorball
Grounds for Divorce
Station Approach
Weather to Fly
One day like this
Forgive me if I missed anything was extremely excited and completely lost my cool when I shouted 'we love you Guy Garvey' much to my other half's disgust.
As for Coldplay they were great, the other half left a happy bunny so all in all great weekend, great city, with my favourite band. The blisters and the six hrs standing on one spot made it all worthwhile as we had a great view and were right near the front.
This will keep me going for a while (it will have to), feeling very envious of you guys meeting up on Friday in Manchester. Have a good one.
