| From the MySpace page: Monday, February 09, 2009 Elbow to support Coldplay in North America In a real British invasion, Elbow will be appearing as special guests on a selection of Coldplays North American dates this Summer. July 25 - East Troy, WI, Alpine Valley Music Theatre [Buy Tickets] July 29 - Toronto, ON, Venue TBC [Buy Tickets] August 3 - Mansfield, MA, Comcast Center [Buy Tickets] August 6 - Raleigh, NC, Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion [Buy Tickets] August 7 - Charlotte, NC, Charlotte Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre [Buy Tickets] August 9 - Tampa, FL, Ford Amphitheatre [Buy Tickets] For full listings of Coldplay tour dates go to www.coldplay.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hurrah, Mansfield is only 45 minutes from me! Thrilled that elbow will be briefly back in the US. Now to see what ticket prices are going to be... I don't really want to pay $75 to see mostly Coldplay. | |

Nice thought, but I think the popularity issues might make that a difficult tour! I think it's great news, Coldplay really admire Elbow and cite them as an influence, so there's a lot of respect there. And it's a fantastic coup for exposure to NA for the Elboys.

| Oh my god. I'm SO excited! This will be the first time I get to see Elbow live after being a fan for 6 years!! It's a pity they're supporting Coldplay but I'm still over the moon. | |

| I admittedly wish Elbow were(was?) the headliner as well. For me, the show will be all about seeing Elbow.
I was a big Coldplay fan way back when. Parachutes was brilliant. A Rush of Blood to the Head wasn't too shabby either. I don't hate them now, but have sort of lost interest. I miss that more raw sound of theirs.
Anyway, with that being said, I'm THRILLED that Elbow will be back on this side of the pond once again. I've missed them so!

I miss that more raw sound of theirs. I felt exactly the same way but I saw them a couple of times just before Xmas and had a blast! I think you will enjoy it, just be open-minded... Anyway, I think it's brilliant exposure for the boys and if they travel out that far they are bound to do a show or two of their own!

| I am definitely considering buying tickets for the Mansfield date, but does anyone know how much they charge for tix? I get the feeling it will sell out fairly quickly. There's a huge gap in the tour dates, so I'm hoping for a possible sideshow before attempting to see Coldplay. | |

| I have a smaller problem about Elbow supporting Coldplay than Elbow collaborating with huge orchestras and choirs... At least the Coldies come from the same direction and are at least not as softrinsed as other Coldplay-Ripoffbands we have here in boring old Germany | |

| I have no idea about ticket prices.
My significant other always waits till the very last minute and purchases tickets from different ticket sites he frequents. He pays a small fortune but usually gets us right up front, which is worth it to us as we don't go to a whole bunch of shows anymore.
So, I'm patiently waiting.

| Well, tickets are now on sale for the Mansfield show, and as suspected, Pavilion seats are $79.50 - $97.50. Obnoxious.
But perhaps I can consider a $35 lawn seat?

| Gah! I just put the tix in my shopping cart for kicks and the total is $111.70 for 2 tickets! That's $20 worth of "ticket fees" and "facility fees" per ticket. The Comcast Center also got some pretty miserable reviews on Yelp: 2 hours to get out of the lot after every show, and you pretty much can't see anything from the lawn (not much of a surprise there). I don't know, much as I love the boys, this really doesn't sound like it's worth it.
I do hope they toss in some of their own shows, though if they're following Coldplay around I'm not sure they'd be able to fit it in the schedule. Boo =(
