| I wish I could have been there! I've only seen them live once but that will all change as soon as their new C.D. is released and they go back on the road! I'm sure they're looking forward to a rest. Loved The South Bank Show! | |

| It's been uploaded to YouTube now, in five parts: Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4 - NB this particular excerpt is marked blocked in some countries, but not the others.Part 5 - lucky with disease wrote:
- What's the latest on this then mrswoman? - I first asked Irshad about the possibility of his film being shown to a wider audience, after the Elbow/Soup Collective DVD launch of LOTFW at the NFT in July 2005.
I stumbled across Irshad's details online about two months ago, so messaged him to ask if there was any chance that it would be released in the future. Sadly, he said it remains commecially unavailable. Dunno, seems a loss to not release it now the band are doing so well. Anyone got contacts to help maybe make this happen? On the other hand, if the Cuban kids' blanked-out faces on the SBS-clip was anything to go by, maybe it can't be released for permission logistics reasons.

| Well I finally got a free evening to see this - what a wonderful programme! It was particularly good to see the guys talking about where it began and the way they work, I thought they came across wonderfully, and it was great too that it came through in the interviews how much Melvyn B obviously loves and respects the music. Excellent to see the footage of MEN too (saw a few faces I recognised, but sadly not us...) but I do agree with other comments that a bit more live footage from other periods would have been good. I have it on my HD recorder but the DVD recorder bit doesn't work. If anyone hasn't got hold of it yet I could oblige with a VHS (technology eh? ) Anyway a great programme and a fantastic tribute. | |

| I recorded the show onto HD and finally got round to watching it last night. I thought it was fantastic! I mostly lurk here and don't know any of you fellow forum members, but i just knew that the fans in the crowd who were giving it their all in the gig clips must have been active on the site.
Unfortunately i couldn't for the life of me get tickets that got me anywhere near the front for the MEN gig (and that's despite being glued to my computer from the second they went on sale!), otherwise i'd have been "losing myself" in a similar fashion with you - it was great to see you all having such a great time though.
A very interesting programme indeed, i shall keep it on HD forever!

| I wasn't even there, but I woulda if I coulda! I've also saved the SBS on my Sky+ box and shall be watching it from time to time. I think the M.E.N. gig would make an ideal D.V.D. release, particuarly as it was so well received by the fans. It would be lovely to see some more of you on the Forum. I'm kind of new around here myself, and so far they seem a friendly bunch, mostly. | |

| It was fun freeze-framing along the front row, picking out various forum members singing, emoting, bottom-pinching etc.
Some of us can now boast cameo appearances on both major TV arts programmes, having graced the Culture Show and the South Bank Show!

| Finally got round to watching this evening, great stuff about the band we all love How many other bands would've come across the way they did, so down-to-earth and honest about what they do? Even Guy talking about his lyrics is uncomplicated and unpretentious despite describing such emotive things. Nice to see some love for some lesser-known songs too - discussing/clipping Little Beast, McGreggor & Snowball and only putting in ODLT at the end! Congrats to all the forum members on-screen from MEN - I suppose if the back of my head at Abbey Road counts I was there too | |

We are so-phisticated. Yeah, there's a colleague of mine at work who was on some sketch at the end of the Harry Hill show (he told me, I didn't actually watch the twerp - harry hill, not my colleague), but I trumped him with my south bank show.

| I loved the quick cutting bits about their early influences BEASTIE BOYS!? PUBLIC ENEMEY!? ANTHRAX!?
A lot of South Bank Shows can be boring, but this was ace, and Manchester looks really cool too. I thought the stuff about Little Beast and Berry to be fascinating, especially the video to Little Beast showing a street fight.
There was a video for for Presuming Ed. I cant find it anywhere else, but those shots of what looks like a desert were breathtaking - can anyone shed any light on where to get full versions of it?
