V used to be an ok festival to go to, when there were not so many festivals. I went 2 or 3 times in early 2000s when you could actually still manage to lounge on the grass and relax to the music, and still be able to be close enough to see, but you only need to watch the crowds on the TV coverage to see what it has now become. Backstage seem to have more room to chill though which is nice for the musicians.
Thanks Tim, that was a good interview with Mark and Pete.
I particularly liked the part where Mark says they are interested in maybe working with other producers again this time when they are back in the studio...with complimentary words about Ben Hillier's input with their first two albums (but that they havn't asked if he is able to yet)
Pete says this would free Craig up to get on with being pianist and keyboards
more than at the mixing desk.
Mark even appeared still a little surprised that different audiences at festivals are singing along and know the songs, though reassuring to hear him say that they are not really a pop act but very much an album band still.
The audio on Absolute is predictably Grounds, ODLT and Mirrorball.
They've counted up their gigs from over the last year and a half of TSSK touring and its up to 150.
