| I think the idea of selective advertising is good. Shame it's ruined by the complete idiots who decide the target demographic. I saw adverts for anti wrinkle cream and sanitary towels during some Worlds scariest police chases thingy.
EDIT: Wait a second! You're a shark, why are you watching TV??!

| I don't watch TV because I am so annoyed by the advertisings which are in Germany mostly horrible stupid. And I get annoyed enough when I go through a chemist's shop and see only deodorants for "nice soft armpits" but no deodorant which does not leave any white marks on my shirt!! Brainwashed ladyshave junkies... Hairy women unite!! (and this says one who is at the moment bald of medical reasons... ) | |

| Mmm. It's a bit like the ads for Coco Pops during CSI. I mean, who are they aimed at??? Also, ads for sanitary towels drive me mad! " For a HAPPY period use ..." WTF ??? Honestly! I don't know any woman who enjoys that part of her life! Sorry. Rant over... | |

Why thank you! Feeling much better now! Re: those cardboard-smooth faces - Well, I have laughter lines around my eyes but I don't mind them. They are Laughter lines. You know: from Laughing! They just show I am a happy little camper. Why hide it?

| I tell you what I can't stand... The 'JML' type ads that go on for 7 minutes repeating the phone number over and over again. It makes out that there's some sort of stuperb offer by saying that not only are you getting x, but also y z a b c d e f g h i and j all free with this amazing one off deal (even though the ad is on all year round, and has been for the last 3 and a half years). hmmmm | |

| the thing that gets me is these ads are s'posed to be life like.... hmmmm if I opened my fridge to get a nutritious and delicious natural yogurt that happened to make my bowel movements a shear pleasure to behold and there was a camera man in there, there's every chance I'd schit myself where I stood specially as he'd probably be froze to death | |

| I've put up with 118s crappy ads for years now, but they have finally crossed the line by blatantly ripping off Magical Trevor. The theme tune and even the animation style is identical. I wonder if they have hired the original creator... I'm sure anyone who isn't English doesn't have the foggiest idea what I'm on about, and half of those who are English are equally clueless, but hey, I like ranting...and starting threads... | |

I'd hope so. The whole campaign set-up reminds me of Joel Veitch doing his brilliantly surreal animations for a web audience, then getting hired by a certain milk shake concentrate company to (ironically) recreate his take on Elbow's Independent Woman cover to advertise their product. Some of you'll remember it? Getting back to the 118 ad, I always end up thinking of Mrs MT when I see the busy angel on the cloud at the end.
