| hey all, this is my first post here. woo!
i cant wait for the big Elbow show in London, but I cant help pondering who will be the support. I imagine there might be a couple of bands before the main event - perhaps a small band we've never heard of that Guy wants to put out there, followed by a slightly more notable/famous band.
Noah and the Whale would do it for me! ^.^ or Mumford & Sons.. or British Sea Power.. or Foals..
maybe the Kloot boys?
anywho, what do you all think?

| Welcome Andy,
Could be Howling Bells who, at the last minute pulled out of the MEN gig in '09......or Villagers maybe, if it's Mumford & Sons, I'm not gonna get into the Sheff and Manc gigs til 9 - can't abide them, and besides, they are probably a bigger band than Elbow at the moment, unbelievably.
British Sea power would be a good fit.

| Mumford.... boring and over exposed. Dont know what other commitments they have already but...
The Phoenix foundation? Beirut? John Grant/ Midlake? Meadow? Turin Brakes?
Rumour Villagers might be doing some

| The other week Guy mentioned on The Finest Hour that Villagers are being sought after as support, but it'll all be down to juggling dates.
Having seen them live, I can tell you they are well worth sacrificing that extra time in the bar!

| I hadn't convinced myself that the O2 show would be worth my hard earned money. I'm pretty convinced now that it will be. The Villagers album is brilliant! I'm in. | |

| A dream ticket indeed, as far as I'm concerned. One of several bands who (in my opinion, others may disagree) could have/should have won last year's Mercury ahead of the Xx.
They were excellent in the intimate surroundings of Lancaster Library and it will be interesting to see how they face up to the challenge of playing enormous metal-and-concrete arenas.

| It would take something special to keep me out of the pub pre ANY gig to catch the support act - only heard one Villagers tune, the one that got a fair bit of radio play - it was pretty good.
It'll be Shambles Square pre MEN, preceded by an all dayer in Sheffield the Saturday before.
Pleased for the Villagers fans on the board though !

| Becoming A Jackal was one of my favourite albums of 2010. They were excellent at Manchester Academy 3 last year but as Mr Woman says, it's going to be a bit different at the MEN.
Get there early you won't regret it.
I hope the audience gives them the respect they deserve

| Villagers supporting There will be a rush for the bar for me. I was really hoping for a band to give the crowd a buzz. Too folky for me.
Foals would have been brilliant.

I agree mate - I won't pretend to know barely any Villagers tracks but Foals are magnificent - saw them in October for the first time....if somebody would have shot me after 'Spanish Sahara' i'd have died a happy man !
