Very seldom do I go to gigs on my own, but I saw Foals in Manchester shortly after 'Total Life Forever' came out and they were magnificent - worth the admission alone just to hear 'Spanish Sahara' live.

Yes, you must check their earlier stuff out, it is really good.

And as for Spanish Sahara live, I totally agree with you, excellent! Last saw them at Glasto 2010 in the John Peel tent. Superb, think they should get a headline spot on there next year.

Staragely, Foals debut does nothing for me really but LOVE the more polished follow up.

Foals were brilliant the other weekend, some of the crowd were a bit mmmm how should we put it? Wasted? and alot only seemed to know two songs, Inhaler and My Number, but managed to have a good night.
Last Friday we saw The Smyths at Manchester Ritz. Now if you like a tribute band, and if you like The Smiths, I would suggest that you catch these lot. Great crowd too, everyone really up for it.

I now have a weekend off before I see Johnny Marr, again at The Ritz.
Would LOVE to see Hurts the following weekend, but I missed getting tickets. Ebay is a no no, selling at ridiculous prices and nothing appeared on Scarlet Mist. But hey ho, thats life.

We are off to see Two Door Cinema Club next month, taking my two daughters who are avid fans. Also saw Villagers last month at Birmingham (fab), saw Lianne la Havas last week who was amazing, with Rae Morris in support; a young 19 year old from Blackpool who really was something special. Such great young talent really blew the audience away and very humble too.

Gosh long time no post! Hope everyone having fun at other gigs too!

Been a while since Ive been here.

Anyway im off to Kendal Calling at the end of the month, then the Manic St Preachers at The Ritz in Manchester.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this gig. Love the Manics alot and to see them in a tiny venue like The Ritz will be amazing.
Then in Oct am off to see Hurts at the Apollo.

Nothing planned, but I'm thinking of going to Green Man by myself - can't get any of my chums to join me. Oh well, all I need is a few pints of ale a day, dry weather (fingers crossed), Chai Wallahs and lots of music in the open air.

Taking my daughter to Cyndi Lauper in November, so she can see how we did it back in the day. Cool
The day after that show, I'm hitting the Coastline Festival with a whole buncha bands (Passion Pit, The Mowgli's, St. Lucia among others).
And this isn't music so I don't know if it counts, but Mr. Chrissie and I are taking a weekend at the Hard Rock to see a stand-up gig with Craig Ferguson. Funny, funny guy - and Scottish, so Mr. Chrissie will enjoy hearing an accent from home! Your next gig? - Page 22 Kilt10
