| Asleep In The Back would have to be my fave although i think all their albums are amazing in their own way, AITB has stood the test of time without doubt, the new album is great but i will give it a year or two before making comparisons, top 3 ELbow tracks....1. Newborn 2. Fallen Angels 3. Station Approach | |

| For me it's the Nooisebox EP. If only 'cause it got me into them. Peel played Powder Blue on Radio One when it came out, blew me away at the time and I was lucky enough to get a copy from a well known Manchester music emporium. That's not to say that the albums are far behind. Seldom... has been on pretty heavy rotation, but I often go back to other tracks. | |

| Very, very hard to choose. I think every one of them has something unique and special about them, but if it really came down to it, I would have to say Cast of Thousands. However, my reasons would be more personal rather than "musical". I have a great affection for this album seeing as this is the one that turned me on to Elbow and has helped me through a very tough time. Does that count? If it doesn't, well then sorry, I couldn't possibly choose!!!! | |

| Asleep In The Back always, there aren't many albums I have that I'd call timeless, but this is one. I could listen to Scattered Black & Whites, Asleep In The Back, Newborn, Red, and Powder Blue every day until I die and never ever sicken of them.
I am totally and utterly impressed with The Seldom Seen Kid tho. Its the best since Asleep that's for sure.

| Asleep for me. Speaks to me more than the others, not that I don't love each one in different ways. Each one has given me enjoyment but AITB was the right album at the right time and totally captured my imagination, it drew me in and immersed me in "Elbow World". Not that many things didn't seem familiar, which is probably what got me hooked. | |

Any thoughts about the DVD with COT and LOTFW? Do they add or detract from the CD??

| LOVE them, absolutely love them, it gives an insight into how they work, i particually love the general faffery in the Ribcage video! I also think the video for Puncture Repair video is one of the most beautiful music video's i've seen. | |

| Asleep In The Back is the most complete album they have done IMHO. I still prefer elbow when they rock as I am not so keen on some of the newer ballad style tracks. | |

| Asleep In The Back is still my main favorite. Like Hoggy said in a previous post, when that album came out, it just fit so perfectly into what was going on at that time. It was such a remarkable thing to experience and listen to. So I have a lot of sentimental attachment to that album now. | |

| Asleep at the back is the album I am least familiar with as I seem to have got into the band in a very random ( a much over used word) way via cast of thousands, then Leaders, Seldom seen kid, and last week Asleep at the back, so I have a treat instore getting to know Asleep as so many people who know what they are on about ( thats you ) rate it so highly. It seems quite common looking through the posts that Elbow albums take a while to get to know and are slow burners which is why they last. My favourite tracks change constantly but Station Approach is always there and currently Mexican stand off | |

| Asleep In The Back is one of the sexiest records. Ever.
Absolutely amazing when listened to with headphones. I believe I could listen to it every single day...and did for quite a while a couple years back.

| cast of thousands.
an album that opens with a song like ribcage, and continues with songs of that calibre, is nothing short of a masterpiece. saying that, i would consider all of elbow's albums to be masterpieces; still - cast of thousands for me. =]
my least favourite would probably be the seldom seen kid, but myabe that's because it's relatively new and hasn't grown on me.

| I've recently been listening to Asleep int he Back a lot - loud (not unusual by any means, but I suppose I hadn't played it for a while) - still one of my all-time favourites - of theirs and ever! It's such a complete album with its own atmosphere, but each song is a highlight too. I am really looking forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks, but was thinking how glad I am to have seen so many of the AITB songs live in the past (Any Day Now, Tailfly, Coming 2nd - plus the ones that they still do) - and am especially glad that Newborn is still up there as a regular in their live set. Back OT, I'd say my favourites were AITB, Cast of Thousands, Leaders, SSK in that order - which probably says something for the "grows on you" factor people have already mentioned, as that was the order I got to know them in. | |
