| Seems an obvious question, but I'm curious to know what your favorite Elbow album is (if you can choose just one; I know it's tough to do!). Also, I know we haven't had a lot of time to live with Seldom Seen Kid yet, but how do you think it compares with their earlier 3 LPs?
My votes: I think Seldom Seen Kid is a great record. Every track is quality. In time it may be the one I play most often. Right now, Cast of Thousands is my top pick. Switching Off, Not A Job, Ribcage, Fugitive Motel, Fallen Angel and especially Grace Under Pressure are all among my favorite Elbow tracks, plus a couple of the songs have sentimental value to me as well, for personal reasons.
What's your pick? | |

| It was Asleep in the back until Seldom Seen Kid came along, now it's hard to pick | |

| I think each one has improved over the previous one. I think Seldom Seen Kid (pseud moment arriving) is the most complete as a progression of songs and a total aural experience. CoT on the other hand, has one of my favourite tracks ever (Fugitive Motel). It also has my least favourite track (Grace Under Pressure).
Favourite at the moment - Seldom Seen Kid.

| Almost an impossible question ? Its like having to choose your favourite child ! If i absolutley had to choose one, I think I'd go with Cast of Thousands. With the others all a very very close second equal !!!!!!!!!!! Actually not sure now, might be swaying to LOTFW after listening again.

| Cast of Thousands will always be on the top of my list and was once my favorite album mainly because it was the album that had me hooked to the band ('Fugitive Motel', 'Switching Off', 'Ribcage', and 'I've Got Your Number' are some of my favorite songs by them), but I would have to go with The Seldom Seen Kid. It's an all around great album with no disappointments. I find myself loving it more and more after each listen. | |

| It's definitely one of those albums that grow on you. At first I didn't enjoy some of the songs, found them a bit boring and dull but I was still blown away by certain tracks, but now I don't have that mentality anymore with the music. | |

| It was hard to choose because Elbow are among rare bands whose every album is of high quality....
Favourite one :
Leaders of the Free World... Station Approach favourite track on it...I moved out of my hometown at the moment the I started to listen to it so that song is a special one for me...Forget Mayself and Leaders - great singles...Mexican Standoff - great song, and really impressive second part of the album with 4 extremely powerful songs...

| Oh, dear...I think I'll have to say Cast of Thousands for now. There are just too many little moments on that one that move and surprise and delight me, even after hundreds of listenings. So many wonderful songs - Ribcage, Fallen Angel, Fugitive Motel, I've Got Your Number, Crawling With Idiot - thrilling, enchanting music. Leaders of the Free World is the one that made me fall in love, and it's a close second. That being said - The Seldom Seen Kid I am still getting to know, and am currently in that lovely giddy falling-in-love-all-over-again stage with. It's gorgeous, and It well may become my favorite. Time will tell. Ask me again in a year. | |

| The albums are so consistantly good, though. Whatever they played live this tour, I could not have been disappointed. Very special... | |

| I'm going through a phase of listening back through everything and I love them all. I think Asleep is probably still my overall favourite, possibly because it was the first I knew. A lot has been said about SSK being consistently good with that "whole album" feel to it - and I agree (although it took me much longer than the other 3 to get into, but is a true grower I think) but I've always felt the same way about AITB, one of the things that impressed me about it; I love everything on it and the whole atmosphere - not to mention quite a few of my favourite Elbow songs - Newborn, Can't Stop, Red (lovely to hear it live last night), Coming Second. But as someone said about favourite children, it's so hard to choose (and then there are the B-sides...) | |

haha, exactly my thoughts... probably still Leaders as it's the album that made me fall in love with the band. I love them all now, even AITB which, having heard after LOTFW and COT, I wasn't so keen on. I have them all on my ipod along with most of the b-sides, only trouble is Winamp auto-shuffled them for me B-sides eh? Time for a new thread methinks

| Asleep in The Back is my favorite album ever. I love the beautifully edgy freaky vibe of the whole thing. Cause that's the way I roll.
I do love them all though.
