| Dublin. Officially the biggest city in the world because it keeps Dublin and Dublin.
Sorry!
Amazing show last night. Probably the best of the 4 shows I've seen on this tour. Well, Cambridge probably had the edge as it was such a small intimate gig & I got to meet the band afterwards, but of the Arena shows this was top. Yes, better than Manchester! The Irish crowds certainly know how to sing along. I also felt that the sound in the venue was better than the other shows I've seen. Not much else I can say really. Another faultless performance in which the band really looked to be enjoying themselves. A fine way to end a tour.
Now we impatiently await more dates. I keep hearing rumours about a gig at Haigh Hall in Wigan. Anyone else heard this?

| Even better than Manchester? That takes some beating. Excellent. - Cestrian Saint wrote:

| Nice one Steve - sounds beltin' ! (Good gag aswell - I like garbage 'groaning' jokes that ) That 27th or 28th gig ? Haigh Hall only holds 7,000, according to reports. I've said before, GMEX for 2 nights in the autumn/Christmas would seem viable or Night and Day for ERO/EF members only ! I think it's fair to say that the arena tour has been a major success - personally speaking, the runway into the crowd and Garvey's natural wit and personality, HUGELY contributing to the good vibes and reviews. Well done Dublin then, for finishing the tour with a bang ! | |

| Nice one!! Any surprises for the last gig of the tour? I hope I can make it to Ireland one day, the gigs over there always seem to go down pretty well. | |

| No real surprises. There was a great moment where a girl threw a hat on stage with a note attached. It turned out that guy had given the hat to her at electric picnic years ago & she was returning it. Guy them asked her if it was ok to give it to someone else, which he did and told the new owner he wanted it back next time they play Dublin.
The cocktail names were interesting. 'Bad Bastard' was suggested but Guy settled on 'Travelling Hat'. God knows what was in it. Guy looked to be struggling after drinking it. I noticed him belching between the lines of weather to fly. Lol.
I got a nod & a wave from Guy. I'd like to think he recognised me, but you never know?
I highly recommend travelling to a gig in Dublin. I've been to 3 and they're very different to gigs in the UK. The audience seem to get into it more. They seem to appreciate it more. There's certainly fewer people chatting and acting like idiots.

| Amazing gig! As Cestrian Saint says everything was tip-top! I was talking to the manager and one of the sound guys last night and they both said that the gig was flawless and the band absolutely nailed it! The general consensus was that this was the best show of the tour! The quality of the sound in the venue was fantastic (as it should be seeing Harry Crosbie enlisted U2 and the best acoustics engineers in the world when he rebuilt the venue - he really aimed for optimum sound quality and seating arrangements!), there were (virtually) no mistakes, Guy was in flying form and the audience were totallly up for it. An absolutely ace way to end the tour. Now the wait is on! | |

There's certainly fewer people chatting and acting like idiots. Guy gave the Travelling hat to my son!! It was his first proper gig and it blew him away My only worry now is how to top that cause I've been to alot of gigs and that was by far the best I was ever at so .. just have to go again when they next play Dublin
