| Thought I'd make a spot for anyone who has picked up some new music and wants to recommend it, or anyone who wants to discuss an upcoming release they're excited about.
One I purchased recently: April, the new LP from Sun Kil Moon. I've been listening to it a lot recently and it's a wonderful album. Very warm sounding and really gorgeous.
One I'm looking forward to: Songs In A&E, the upcoming release from Spiritualized. Someone I know on MySpace mentioned this in his blog, and after checking out some of the new tracks that are appearing online, I am liking the way it sounds. I'll definitely be picking it up when it comes out in May.

| I recently got Biffy Clyro's last two albums, first I've heard of them and they're very cool, loud, indie but not tooo typical thanks to some neat ideas! Can we do anti-recommendations? The new Mars Volta album 'The Bedlam in Goliath' isn't working for me right now. Their last album Amputechture was a trial to get into, but worth it, so I'm hoping this one is the same... but yeah, beware, big unintelligable wall of noise alert. I just finished downloading Bon Iver's debut at Carah's recommendation so I'll be reporting back when I've given that some listens. | |

I also think Fleet Foxes sound really good! Also found a lot of other things recently that I'm enjoying; new Death Cab For Cutie (even though I really am not a big fan of theirs, the new stuff is pretty excellent), M83, Eagle Seagull, Mates of State and What Made Milwaukee Famous are all quite good. If anyone here likes to try before you buy, I have put together a playlist which is posted on my MySpace profile page, and it includes new tracks from all these artsists as well as My Morning Jacket, Spiritualized, the Watson Twins and a few more. You can check it out and see if you like 'em - just click here to see my profile page on MySpace, or you can visit my user page on playlist.com by clicking here.

I've heard her name but not her music yet. Also heard her story, and based on what I recall of it, it seems amazing that she was around for you to see! Will definitely check her out though based on your enthusiasm.

Considering all that she's been through, it made me feel very humble indeed

hmm...I hope not. I even wonder what A Pacific Model means with "RIP 2003-2007" on their myspace-site anyway. I also like Mogwai a lot. Mostly when they tumble between noise and melody...

| If any of you guys are into Band of Horses I'd recommend this guy, Tyler Ramsey. He's one of the stand-in gitarists in Band of Horses. Just stumbled by one of his shows a couple of months ago when he was touring with Band of Horses.... http://www.myspace.com/tylerramseymusicMy personal favourites are "no one goes out", "ships" and "a long dream" enjoy! | |
