Ello you lot.
Got this email last week, not sure if it's been posted here!
Hi there,
If you've heard Guy Garvey and co talk about their work, you'll know that for Elbow making music is about so much more than making a living. That's why the band have joined our Music Matters campaign.
But how did these five lads from the north get to be one of the most critically acclaimed bands from the UK, and what have they learnt along the way?
Let's celebrate Elbow, the newest supporters of the Music Matters campaign. Watch this beautiful video to find out how it all started - then share their story with your friends and family.
For Elbow, there's only ever been one rule, "The song is all".
They have always made the music they wanted to make - and it's paid off.
But they also know firsthand how difficult it can be to make a living as a professional musician. It took Elbow twenty years to get the recognition, and the Mercury Music Prize, that they deserved. They also know that today, talented young musicians face even greater challenges than they did back in the early 1990s.
Elbow are a great example of a band who understand the enduring value of music. Now help spread their story.
Watch this stunning short video about the band, and share it with everyone you know:
