A few more details on the new album

i hope so.

There is a bit more in this month's Q magazine, but work and home are so completely, utterly mad at the moment- and not really in a good way - that I haven't had a chance to copy to the forum. Will try this week, but absolutely no promises.

Or you could buy the magazine I suppose.

Oo if you could that would be marvellous...

I can't buy it here in Canada...or at least I haven't seen it anywhere.

Dear Q

Since you came to visit us in the studio last month all sorts has happened. We had a pair of young ladies called Cupid's Bow come in and play cello for us. We also crane-lifted a grand piano into the top floor of the studio. Windows had to be removed and it took 12 hours to complete. The 55 strong Halle Youth Choir gave up Sunday to come in and sing a number of songs. I felt a bit cheeky asking such well trained vocalists to sound a bit more "Manc" but they were up for it. So many real musicians under one roof, we were very flattered that they agreed to work with us. Craig Potter has been mixing so hard he has actually digitally interfaced with the recording software. He now speaks like a vocoder and moves the faders with his eyes. The end of any album project is a time of broad strokes and tiny bits of fragile lacework so none of us are getting much sleep, but we are looking forward to everybody hearing what we have been doing for the past two years.

So mixing is done and we are at mastering stage...I suspect a January release date...maybe Feb...

I listened to Garv's Finest Hour yesterday, he said, the record is ready and he hopes to tell more details in the next days...

Still that ties in with Craig's tweet...it shouldn't take long for a professional mastering engineer to master an album.

If they were already well along in the process of art etc, then it's just jump on the promotion wheel.

So, what are we looking at here? End of January? February???

How long did it take to master the other albums? Maybe we could figure the time and make an average to estimate with!

End of January, the first single. Mid Feb or end of Feb the album.
I hope for a good title and a good cover.
