I saw the Doves set there, but not Mumford & Sons or Tori Amos, but they are all here, if anyone hasn't seen yet and would like to:

A double whammy! for the Calendar; which has, like so many advent calendars do, more windows being opened than days gone Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

I very briefly and weirdly thought about a clip of one of the Beatles performing on the final of the X Factor in 2009, but this one got my Christmassy vote for today instead. Has nice comments too.

one of my favourite songs of all time that. I know Lindisfarne never really got the praise that Alan Hull's genius deserved, maybe it's misplaced pride in our shared Geordie roots, but this has left a tear in my eye today.

Can you imagine how appalling it would have been if someone like Macca had done it? All false bonhomie and "I'm just a normal fella enjoying meself with the family at Xmas, anyone fancy a tune on the old joanna" Dylan just looks sinister
which is what Christmas is all about!

Me too! I saw them a gazillion times in the late 70's AND, when I saw the Elboys in Berlin in May, I paid a visit to the Ramones museum there. They ARE my youth!

Aaaahhh, the Ramones, God bless 'em! Well, the ones that are still alive, anyway...just finished reading a new book called I Slept With Joey Ramone (wirtten by his younger brother, so don't get the wrong idea!). It was a great read - very fascinating cat, was Joey. Lots of issues but his story was ultimately very moving. And, that Ramones museum would be awesome, Ticky! Hope I can check it out if I ever get to do a bit more world traveling someday!
Sorry, back on topic now...great video there, Mr. W!

I'm loving this thread - from the lovely Lindisfarne to Half Man Half Biscuit (I hadn't heard this one - up to their usual standard ) and everything in between.
Here's my offering for today - back to the Christmas Specials:

And while we're on that one (I couldn't get it to post 2 embedded vids in one post), not so Christmassy but from the same programme, how could I resist - Kate Bush & Peter Gabriel doing a Roy Harper song? Bliss.

A Christmas song remembered from early years...cheesy cliche, but cute.
And how I first remember him, but in a toe-curling, not Chrismas duo here.

Good choice, Glendarian ...theres just a few Christmas Tull songs. I always thought this one was seasonal, though was not on the Jethro Tull Christmas Album. Such lyrics in this song...and appropriate with the ice that is about just now.

Excellent! I hadn't realised how long it was since I've heard that one, probably back "In the year... one." You know, I'd never thought of it as seasonal, but you're right. OK one more (definitely seasonal) before people start saying I'm on the wrong band's list...
