Until t'internet can deliver chocolate via the ether, here's an alternative countdown calendar. Every day of Advent, one person posts a link to an mp3 or video of a favourite seasonal song. It can be as subtle and stylish - or tacky and daft as you like!
Kicking you off for today, with a gentle lead-in to tinselitis:

That's one of my favourites CB. There's nothing wrong with the obvious. Actually, I'm looking forward to Slade's offering. Has anyone heard that one before?

Aww - I loved their Christmas shows when I was a kid. I think my favourite was the Angela Rippon one. It was SHOCKING at the time, but it looks so tame now!

I think my favourites were Shirley Bassey singing Smoke gets In Your Eyes and the infamous Andrew Preview sketch.

Whoops, sorry about the Lennon double-post folks...must have some low-grade Alzheimer's happening! Although that info might be better off in the Grey Expectations thread...
EDIT: I added a holiday-flavored video over on the Tom Waits thread, as I think it might be better there than here. Kinda one that only the Waits fans among us might enjoy, methinks!

Last Friday Doves played an acoustic Christmas Session for Absolute radio in the Chapel of The House of Charity (The House of St Barnabas-in-Soho) One of the songs played was a cover of Low's 'Just like Christmas' used for the trailer for the other sessions.
The House was one of the first hostels for the homeless in London. Whilst staying there, daily church attendance was expected - hence the little chapel, built in 1862. More recently the Charity meets homeless and disadvantaged people's needs by also offering the rooms out for Corporate events and as a Wedding venue, the Chapel being used for music and poetry performances.
