| I'm really sorry to do this to you, but I just went in the kitchen and there was a huge spider on the wall. I didn't scream, but I would've done if it had moved. Fortunately, Mr P was there to put it out for me and if he hadn't I'd have had to wake one of the kids up to get it. I am not scared of little spiders, but those big horrible house spiders, that scurry along when you're not expecting it - they really put the willies up me! Here's a pic of one - of course the one in my kitchen was MUCH bigger than this What scares you? | |

| I am not a spider phobic but from a certain size on I don't like to see them. If they are small enough to be catched with a glass and a postcard it's ok, but I've seen two huge spiders in Hull which were so huge that I could not catch them with my glas. So I had to kill them with one big slap and closed eyes. Still felt sorry somehow. At the moment I'm a bit phobic of public transport. I am not hysterical about the pig flu, but still it makes me shiver if I think I could catch the flu that shortly after my lung surgery... | |

| Don't really think i have any phobias as such. Not bothered by spiders, bugs, snakes or anything like the dark or heights. What scares me ? ...mmm apart from the wife in a bad mood I'm not too good on rollercoasters, or anything like that - probably cause i'm an engineer and know how sometimes metal fails and things break ! | |

| Can be claustrophobic in certain situations...enclosed spaces are tolerable only if I don't have to be in them for too, too long. But my big thing is anything to do with eyes...HATE having stuff in or near my eyeballs for some reason and won't even wear contacts because of it! | |

| Red candles has reminded me of a manager who I once worked for who had a problem with red cars. He would never get into one. Ever. If you offered him a lift he would always ask whether you had a red car or not and if it was, he would politely refuse. If he was getting a hire car, he would always get his secretary to make sure that it wasn't a red car.
I asked him about this once, and, with an enigmatic smile, would refuse to explain.

| I'm not keen on dogs especially Alsatians running around off the lead - 99% of them are fine, but I always assume they're going to be the 1% that has a taste for human arsemeat. I'm fine with dogs on leads though.
I'm like TL, spiders don't generally bother me, but I saw a maHOOSive one yesterday. Wish I'd taken a photo of it, it could've had its own postcode!

| Spiders and moths.
Also I have a thing about having blood tests (I've fainted at every one which is twice) and a phobia about having needles in the back of your hand (canulas) in hospital. Never had that happen to me neither.
I think it's possibly a phobia of needles in general.

| A newish term, 'trypophobia', the fear of small holes - usually irregularly occuring ones in nature. Like lotus seed heads, random pockets in meat or weird erosion in stones. *Bleugh*.
It's a weird one because I can look at or touch the offending item, I just end up feeling creeped-out about it for ages.

I think it's possibly a phobia of needles in general. I have a had a ton of canulas over my life span, none of which I enjoyed. It's annoying if they are in for a few days (asthma attack), cos they start to itch really badly.

| Ok, I know this really isnt PC but I'm afraid of dwarves, and I know thats not the correct term. I dont want to offend anybody and I'm quite sure they can be lovely people but I used to have a re-occuring nightmare as a child where dwarves featured heavily, cant remember it properly, but I've been terrified ever since. Oh and I once fell over one on a bus so embarressment probably comes in to it somewhere. | |
