It was utterly hideous - this is why I'm being completely wreckless with my bank account and going to Berlin. Two whole days and nights by myself and ELBOW!!!! Bliss....

Definately! I'll try and get some in the gig as well - the trouble is, I'll be singing all the way through and bouncing up and down - so the photos will be crap. No-one wants to hear me warbling away!

Just back from Berlin and really, really enjoyed the gig.
I reckon this was the very last time that they played in a smaller venue, so it was definitely worth the trip over.
The lads were in great form and for some of the tracks they brought on a brass section which worked really well.
It was a fab night and I know it's to be broadcast on German Radio but I am not quite sure yet which station.
I am so glad I decided to go to this gig instead of Pinkpop! Smaller venue, full set, no noisy disinterested beer-guzzlers and I got to get right up the front! Yay!

I met Ticky and one german member from this forum who did not write posts till now and they liked it very much. I have mixed feelings but maybe I am too finicky after those so private feeling concerts in Cologne and Hamburg.
Guy said in an interview, that Berlin in November was like a Party. I wonder how it would have been if there would not have been a gap for the photographers.
It was again with a gap, this time too for a camera man who filmed it. He said it will be online in a few weeks.
The concert was nice, the brass was good and not too noisy. And they played beautiful old "Any day now".
Guy grinned at me a few times and I have to take that moments into hospital. I should not grieve about the cold backstage area where Guy stood with some VIPs(??) or even friends (???) talking and smoking and he did not react when Ticky and me shouted for him. And when he left we shouted even louder and he just waved to us and left...
Ticky said he might have been just too busy with the recordlabelfolks. Or just tired of beeing the nice teddybear...I felt quite bad today but by now I think it is alright. Who was as lucky as me meeting the band?! Sometimes I feel a bit ashamed being so much luckier than folks from Elbows home. But still I think it would have been nice if Guy would have patted my shoulder saying: "Sorry me dear, I am very busy. Good looook for your soorgery..."
I still love Elbow very much and I hope their next record will be great. And I hope that my health will be better when they are back, so I can stand it better if the audience got so big that I might not get first row (and not the possibility to hold my ballance on the monitors)

Yes, it was very much a last minute decision. I enjoyed the show in Amsterdam so much that the next day I decided to go to Berlin instead of Pinkpop!
My family weren't really happy about it because it meant I only got to spend 1 day with them!
Yes, security etc was really strict, I guess this is what happens when a band gets really big.
I love this band and I am really happy that they now get all the recognition they so deserve but I will really miss those smaller venues.
In future I may just skip the big concerts and save my money so I can travel a bit further for one of the smaller gigs. For as long as that may last!
