| unbelievable gig. I am sure they played more songs than that but I cant for the life of me remember what.
The new songs are ACE live. Starlings is an amazing opener and I hope Grounds for Divorce is their "breakthrough" single. It is brilliant. I think my favorite of the new songs was Tower Crane Driver. That song is truly incredible live. The chick I went to the show with had tears in her eyes. The older stuff was as fantastic as usual. People say Thom Yorke has the best voice in music but for me Guy is on another level (and I am a big Radiohead fan).
Guy once again proved why he is one of the best frontman in music. His chat between songs was hysterical and heartfelt. Lovely bloke. He messed up the beginning of Newborn and asked the crowd to boo him cos he wanted to see what 5,500 people booing sounded like. Everyone booed and he just said "fuck me". It was funny. I guess you had to be there!
I would put this gig in my top 3 ever. Roll on glastonbury!

| Oh, and Richard Hawley was there for The Fix and Grace Under Pressure. Two Gallants also joined in on Grace. | |

| Thank you -- glad it was such an awesome show! Very cool that Richard Hawley is making an appearance on so many stops in the UK, but I doubt we'll see him here in the States. Would be great if they surprised us though...you never know! | |

Please! No! The moment they go in to arenas is the moment I stop seeing them live. I loathe arena gigs. Huge soulless barns with no atmosphere. Tiny dots moving around on a stage half a mile away. Pointless.

Please! No! The moment they go in to arenas is the moment I stop seeing them live. It's the stage that Elbow's music deserves tho, no? If any band has the tunes to fill an arena it's Elbow. Surely you can't begrudge the band their moment.

Surely you can't begrudge the band their moment. No. I don't begrudge them that at all. I agree that songs like One Day Like This and so on would sound amazing with 15,000+ voices belting it out and I sincerely hope that Elbow get the recognition that they IMHO justly deserve. Sadly, that success tends to kill bands and kills creativity too. I'm just happy that for the moment we as fans can see them in nice intimate surroundings and are able to say 'We were there at the start'

| Its been a long start though, I was at one of Coldplay's breakthrough small gigs at The Forum in 2002, Elbow were about at the same point still basking in their Mercury music prize nomination. Then what happened? We've been lucky to have them in smaller venues this long.... now there are baby elbows to feed. | |

| I feel i must share my Brixton experience with you all and hope it never happens to you!lol Firstly i get tinnitus these days probably due to going to too many loud gigs etc, so i wear earplugs at gigs now, anyway after seeing Elbow at Rock City last Monday i decided to go to Brixton on the Tuesday, a nice 220 mile round trip, got there early, got to the front row, saw the support group, then noticed my ears ringing quite badly for some reason even with the ear plugs in! So i had to leave about 2 minutes before Elbow came on stage, gutted or what!!!! Maybe better earplugs are in order!lol | |

| Or you could get some sound reducing headphones. Except, then every body will think your listenin to an mp3 player during the gig. Hmmmmm. | |
