I could do, but as the only thing I remember from German lessons is "Entschuldigung, bitte, wie kommen ich am bestem zum Rathaus?" (Excuse me please, how do I get to the town hall) I fear my contributions will be a bit limited.

At least I always thought it was that (also the word for corner), but I just checked and apparently the German for Elbow is das Winkelstück. Catchy, eh?

Ahem, as a Dutch person I know plenty of German but most of it is not really for erm, 'public use' as they say!
Totally chuffed that this forum is the tops but not surprised really!

Today I got a message that my forum will be closed if nothing happens there
So I posted myself but I'm really frustrated about the Germans. Seems most of them rather listen to bad Coldplay-copies like Silbermond instead of great folks like Elbow!!

Second: as you know, I am also from Germany.
@ Lee Spoons: Elbow means "Ellbogen" not "Ecke" (corner) or "Winkelstück" (what does that mean anyways *LOL*)
@ Dabamash: Well done. But I thinks these are the first things everyone knows from a different language! (C**k, Pr**k, C**t and so on!)
@ Jones: that's true. I've met a Dutch person once and she spoke almost perfectly german.
@ TL: Ermm, well Elbow is an English band... I like to go on an english forum for such reasons. Not on german ones. The english forums are always up-to-date. It's very hard to find a good german forum for an not german band. Sorry!

I look in your elbow fansite, TL but only other language I did at school was a bit of latin and french, so I am a bit useless on the forum bit.

(its Blink 182 at number 1, but perhaps they spam more)
