| Thanks...I was planning to listen to this, but probalbly would have run out of time, not realising who was narrating. And was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Dean_(artist) mentioned? I only heard Hipgnosis talked about. I found bits of the second part of the documentary more interesting, with what Paoli Hewitt, Tom Robinson and Gary Kemp had to say, much of the rest of it was rehash of previous ducumentaries on the biggies...Beatles, Bowie, together with all the usual media suspects/music icons. At least Guy got to name-check Genesis and ELO in one brief sentence, though there are other arty musicians still forgotten in documentaries of this kind. | |

| I think too it's a pity they did not meantioned Roger Dean. He is beside Hipgnosis my fave album cover painter. When I paint, I imitate his style sometimes. And sometimes I think, those old Vinyl fans don't have a clue about the trouble we east germans had. We had to get vinyls of the great bands for lots of money on the black market and even when we were lucky enough to have relatives in the west we could have the bad luck of getting a record with a pressing mistake! I remember well how disapointed I was when I got "Relayer" by Yes and the first three or four minutes of "Gates of Delirium" weren't playing properly | |
