I heard this morning that the rules are changing, and that the votes are going back to jury based, as opposed to public telephone voting. That ought to stop it.

Oh yeah! Watching it with subtitles on is hilarious! Especially when it says stuff like "Happy music" and "Audience clapping vigourously"

I think it's going to be a combination of both, somehow.

We Germans don't have much "friends" either...maybe some Mallorca-Germans might vote for us and Austria and Switzerland...but they don't like us too

I remember the rumanian Band "Taxi" around 2000/2001, they were really good but got a real bad vote, poor chaps...And Mumiy Troll from Russia was cute but maybe again too good to get a vote...Also our candidate Max Mutzke wasn't that bad at all with his slightly Steve-Winwoodesce voice, but too unimpressive looking for that flashy show...

Mostly I watched the Contest more as the "Show of unintended comedy"

Btw, anyone seen Guy Garvey at "Nevermind the Buzzcocks..." a few years ago? He and the other guests had to guess who of the young ladies is the Eurovision-Girl. (forgot her name wos it Lindsay???) Guy choose a small black haired but wasn't right. Maybe it's is a good sign not to know her...

Eurovision can solve the pop factor problem like maria strictly on ice etc etc...
