Pity as the gig's on our 4th wedding anniversary, but we were at the boys' last Maida Vale outing so we'll never complain =)

| I hope the repeat on the red button is of the whole show. The BBC have a nasty habit of showing the gig in its entirety & then saying it's available on the red button for another 7 days but when you watch it they've hacked it to bits and only show the highlights. | |

| Things I've learned from this performance: - Some of the new tracks (namely Charge and FBB) don't sound too strong live. Sounds a bit like they're trying to fill it out, so God knows how it'll sound in an arena. - Tracks from TSSK are now considered 'old'. - Jupp is still so cool. - The inclusion of Scattered Black and Whites and Puncture Repair gives me hope for some older tracks in the tour. - Guy looks bloody funny behind that little drumkit. | |

| Haha the BBC audience didn't seem to be that enthused by another One day like this. 'Laugh politely at repeats!' They cheered loudly when it ended.
'Charge' could have potential to be really loud, powerful, aggressive and bullish in a large venue.

The wording they've used leading up to this event makes me believe that only highlights will be available: "Watch it all again! If you miss any of Elbow's In Concert performance, you'll be able to watch video highlights online and on the BBC Red Button from the following day." Loved the appearance of Scattered. The set list needs some tweaking to me. Charge would be better as a midpoint or towards the end.

| Typical. Just show the full gig. Why hack it to pieces? Had I known I could've set my recorder the last time I was home in the UK. I'm not around until Saturday and I was hoping to make a recording when I'm back for the Newcastle gig. it'll be a shame if I've missed my only opportunity to record the whole show. | |

| I'd love to hear 'This blue World' to open and Take off and landing as an epic close, missed the blanket of night as well. Still nothing from Cast of Thousands. | |

Still nothing from Cast of Thousands. Absolutely agree with every word - 'This Blue World' I've grown to love now and though not a HUGE fan of the title track, something LOUD amongst the setlist would freshen things up, for me.

Anyway, whatever the boys do rocks my world although I wish they would do some different songs, powder blue and coming second amongst many I would love to see. Looking forward to Manchester now and a damn good pub crawl before!

Mmm. Not sure I agree. They started with Charge in Amsterdam and it worked really well, it was loud and vibrant; a great opener.

Totally agree, for 2 reasons... 1. I'm not there, and 2. The people who are there are largely made up of the sort of people who would turn up at the opening of an envelope & enter every Radio 2 competition just so they can brag about winning tickets. The artist performing is irrelevant. I think it's a real shame that nobody from these forums managed to get tickets. I saw Sting do one of these shows (I'm a huge fan of his work & not ashamed to admit it). The tickets were given away by Radio 2 but the fan club also secured about 20 tickets so that some real fans could attend. Maybe next time, eh?

Mmm. Not sure I agree. They started with Charge in Amsterdam and it worked really well, it was loud and vibrant; a great opener. Had to look up the setlist for that one. The order was much better since they followed it with Bones and didn't stick Mirrorball near it, which I felt made it a waste.

| Well as one of those people who buys all the albums but has never seen them live, I really enjoyed that. Still a bit TSSK-heavy (I would've liked to hear TTOALOE the title track instead of ODLT or Mirrorball) but having said that I thought Grounds for Divorce sounded great with Guy on the drums. Nice to hear a couple of "oldies" too. Don't know what the TV highlights will be like but I'm uploading the Radio 2 stream now edit: now in the Scattered Flac & Sights board | |
